In all seriousness, does anybody think Benteke would be a good Lukaku replacement?

Wouldn't be cheap by our standards of course but he'd surely be cheaper than Lukaku.

His lack of recent form is a bit of a worry, but he'd be a very adequate replacement for Lukaku. Wins absolutely everything in the air. 15m maybe, i dunno.

I have a mate at Stoke who just texted me saying we offered them Heitinga for Kenwyne Jones. Jones texted Mark Hughes one hour before the Liverpool game saying he wasn't coming, then texted Pennant to say he was shopping with the mrs. Knobhead.

Fair enough but what if Benteke wants out too? Which wouldn't surprise me since he could do a lot better than them and would probably stand more of a chance in the Belgium squad at a better team.

I was exaggerating but Lukaku has brilliant potential and will be twice the player Benteke is. I don't think he'll cost £25m, probably somewhere closer to what BMG suggested, or a bit more. £15-20m I'd guess.

Re. Kenwyne Jones - I'm actually not arsed about it. I see it as if we spent 1m on him and we got into Champions League cos he went thru a purple patch like K Campbell when he joined, or Jelavic when he joined....then maybe get him in for that sole purpose. Once mission accomplished his value will increase and we can get rid for profit and get the right guy in in the Summer.
