that can only happen in the last year of the contract, he's still got another 6 months before he can do that.

Tadic is a brilliant player. Perfect to replace Pienaar and he plays on the right and cuts in, meaning Mirallas/Deulofeu could play on the left rotating with Pienaar. Would be good while Barkley is out to have somebody more than capable as playing as a No.10

Its any time after the first 3 year "protected period" isn't it? Regardless of contract length I think. It's referred to as the Webster Rule after the Hears player who was first to invoke it.
