I would be more concerned if we started well.....

You can't judge a Moyes season early on

We can't go any further as a team with poor starts to the season, and Moyes has caused us problems ( my opinion ) 2 years on the run now.
Last year it was his contract talks.
This year it was the Lescott saga.

To improve as a team, we need to break into the top 4.

Slight problem here though :(

The top 4 teams don't lose many matches.

Last season, Arsenal lost 6 matches. Liverpool only lost 2. United 4 and Chelsea 5.

The season before that, Liverpool as 4th place lost 4, with Arsenal and Chelsea only losing 3, and United 5.

We've already lost 3 out of our first 4 matches, and the one we won was with a last gasp penalty.

It's easy to laugh it off as a typical Moyes start to the season, but in reality, he's already blown our chances of improving on our league position and breaking into the top 4 again.

Unless the rest of the league have a nightmare, our season is now about surviving first and foremost, and trying to scrape a Europa place against very tough opposition if we're lucky.

We're already up against it, and the season has only just started.

This is why many of us are a little negative at the moment. (y)

I'm sure the remaining 34 games will be just as exciting, and we can still all enjoy the season as fans, but anyone who thinks we stand a chance of moving forward this year is very optimistic indeed.

Enjoy Europe and raise the roof off the stadium for those lucky enough to travel, as it will be a long time before we see it again I fear.

Just one more fight
About your leadership
And I will straight up
Leave your [Poor language removed]
Cause I've had enough of this
And now I'm pissed (yeah)

This time I'm a let it all come out
This time I'm a stand up and shout
I'm a do things my way
It's my way
My way or the highway

Special
You think you're special
You do
I can see it in your eyes
I can see it when you laugh at me
Look down on me
You walk around on me

On a serious note its clear Moyes wanted more in the Summer and he never got it, you can point fingers at him and call him dithering Dave, but the fact is he was in America for a while and working with the players a lot.

He has yet again been badly let down by the board which some of you STILL support. The optimists always say "Whining doesnt help", your right it doesnt, but you know what would work, do you what would maybe turn things in Everton Football Clubs favour, a sweeping 100% backing of Moyes and a sweeping 100% vote of no confidence in the board.

Soundbites are no longer enough for me, ive heard the bolloxs and im sick of hearing it, its time for a change at the very top.

Ha! I've seen worse than what has passed hitherto, we all have right?, and it's only four games into the season so no need to go around in a panic like that guy out of Dads Army flapping arms or whatever it was.

November 1994. Everton yet to win a league game in three months, god awful start, (early exit, Portsmouth if memory serves, in the League Cup, 2-3 at Goodison it surely may) staring relegation in the face, certainties to lose top flight status in forty years, it's a sorry state of affairs, and after that when all hope is seemingly lost, need I go on, you know damn well what happened at the seasons end.

Of course a change of manager was certainly pivotal, Walker was as useless as reusable ice-cubes after coming from Norwich, Royle did a great job, albeit for a short time, and I'm not suggesting getting rid of Moyes at all here, i'm all for David as manager, has done wonders since arriving from PNE, but point being, we will turn this around, and just wanted to go back in time fifteen years to make a comparison to when times really were dire and you had to ask questions. All said, only a handful of games gone, plenty of time to redeem ourselves and make progess on the league, I'm thinking maybe a 16th place finish, but with it, another FA cup final, only this time as winners.

It's been done before lets not forget, but as for (any) talk of relegation, I just cant' see it, won't happen because it can't happen, see?

I dont think anybody is disputing that we will turn it around, but we have started terribly, the lesser teams will no longer fear us and the big boys will see us as whipping boys yet again. Anybody that thinks we will even get close to 5th again needs to go and have a CAT scan.

I did say, along with others that 7th place seemed a suitable achievement, to state the obvious, won't win the league, runners up is VERY unlikely, 3rd place not going to happen, 4th is punching above our weight, another 5th looks sadly beyond us, 6th place maybe just a rung to high, so 7th sounds good to me, there was talk of relegation somewhere, I'll have a snoop around with the straight jackets...
