Where did they come from
Burgers eh, Yanks invented them didn't they? Apparently burgers have their roots in Mongolian conquest times, as the marauding lads needed a handy snack to chow down on , in between bouts of slaughtering and horse worrying.

The land of the free though, is probably at the very nucleus of the burger world and this culinary delight was eagerly accepted by the onlooking world along with other US exports such as , TV diners, Chilli Con Carne (Texan dish ) and those god awful Oreo things, 100% sugar, biscuits my arse.

Burger me thats good
Burgers now take on many a form, dodgy looking slabs of "meat: from a Van, global domination by certain chains and lately a wonderful development in the progress of the patty is, a UK take on some of the delights found again, stateside

Repeat Thread
Hey lad , there's plenty of burger threads why another.
This is chance to show us your faves and worst if you like, even your own creations if you want and by show I mean pictures ... come on show us yer burger lad

Patty and Bun - Ok it's London based but like Byron Burger, surely it wont be long before this reaches the provinces

Next up - London again I'm afraid is Meat Market, a bit over trendy in its industrial design of the restaurant but amazing food is on offer

Finally Byron Burger, not exactly new, but present now in major UK cities, Liverpool, good beer selection too

As for the Bad the Ugly , only one choice for me , it's 2am beer flushed and I need sustenance, I know it's bad but I just cant resist the lure of the Van

Go on then, make me drool

Ive been testing different burger beef recepies while being on summer vacation and now ive found great set.

When your beef is good you shouldnt but anything else but thick slice of quality cheddar and blue cheese innit.

I can put the beef recepie here later if someone wants it.

The Rockstone in Southampton. Massive burgers and they experiment loads with flavours. And the beer is good!

If you could please mate. I use mostly beef but mix in some minced fatty pork, its what you put with it that makes it, for me .. Smoky Tomato Ketchup, streaky bacon, Chilli relish and melted Monterey Jack Cheese, also add some Liquid Hickory smoke to the burger mix

Patty and bun is good, bleaker street is still king though... seriously.

mini rant incoming:

If you can't eat a burger with your hands and have it not fall apart then it's a [Poor language removed] burger as far as I'm concerned, these tower burgers you get filled with ridiculous amounts of ingredients which fall apart as soon as you touch them are absolute garbage and instantly make me dismiss the chef as a clueless whopper who shouldn't be making burgers for a living.

It's like they have no respect for how important the burger to bun ratio is, rank amateurs who should stick to making food for magazines which look good but eats like [Poor language removed].

You should trademark that.

It seems Southampton has some great places does @ijjysmith know this ?

These are the best two I think. Food wise Southampton is fairly decent if nothing else!

It is really. Food wise it has everything you could imagine. And a load more coming in the massive extension they're doing to the West Quay shopping centre.

The Rockstone is awesome for food. But got done just last week for serving booze to minors. The divs.
