Should we have won the Wigan game?

Sadly i couldn't make the game and havn't got around to watching the highlights yet so i was just wondering how we played. I am gutted because i had a acca on and the only team that didn't win was Everton. lost out on £850 painful

Their first goal was offside, we should have had at least 2 penalties and maybe 3 if we were lucky.
First half Wigan pretty much forced us into making mistakes, they looked good upfront and it certainly wasn't a surprise they scored. Wasn't a huge surprise when they scored a second either. Never seen their player Kone before, but he was MoM for me

Second half, we got into our rhythm better but still lacked that killer punch. Relief when we equalised, but losing would have unjust. Depending on the shade of your glasses, some will say a draw was a fair result, some will saywe should have won.
The ref was a shocker, wouldn't say he was biased, just not very good and it could easily be said that the officials cost us another 2 points.

The Baines yellow card was the strangest...even Baines was mystified.

In saying that, sure the ref was bad (you get that from time to time), but our defense looked poor...if we were undone by just poor officiating then i would agree with those who say we should have won.

but i think a draw was fair, considering our poor defending.

Moyes got it wrong starting Johnny, if we would have started distin, we might have won.

Yes. Their first goal was clearly offside and I still can't get over that Jelavic penalty claim. It was so obvious!

Why on earth not?!

We have considerably better players than them in every department (except keeper perhaps).

I'd expect us to beat Wigan everytime. However, it doesn't always work out like that.

On the balance of play, a draw was a fair result. The pleasing thing (or annoying thing, depending on how you see it) is we had enough chances to win the game, just like every game we've played this season. It's nice that we are creating a lot of chances, which is a huge step up in itself from this stage of the last few seasons.
