I know Gérard Deulofeu has scored and assited since he's been at the club but is his look-at-me-beating-my-man-and-going-back-to-beat-him-again attitude what we want from an Everton player?

Do you think we ought to take up an option for another season on loan if it's offered?

Happily swap him for Cuenca or Tello for a year. Been utter tripe since back from injury, which is a huge shame as he was boss pre-hamstrung.

Having watched pretty much every game for Barca of both of those players, and seen Deulo for Barca B and now for us, I will have to just assume you don't know what you are talking about and just wanted to post an opinion to complain about him....because the alternative is that you don't know how to tell a good/exciting/promising footballing talent from a Stewart Downing.

Its like Port Vale saying can we send back that Rooney lad and we will take Branch or Barlow...

His crosses are often pretty damn good. Not his fault no one's there to meet them.

He's predictable in that he always goes down the flank, but then he's predictable in that he always seems to succeed and beat his man. That is a huge asset. I'd love to have him for another season. Him, McGeady and Mirallas all offer different things to the team.

On the one hand it's easy to say it's predictable yet defenders can't prevent it and there are few things more coveted in football than a player that can consistently beat their marker...The more disappointing aspect that is painfully predictable is that no one ever makes the run in the box to try & meet those crosses - seems they're waiting for the cutback...over & over

As for his loan...A lot will depend on what happens this summer with Barcelona - many things are in flux...The current President says there will be no pre season tour of significance due to the WC which means they'll be playing several matches in Europe and for that I'm sure Deulofeu will be included in those matches...I still think he should be returning, whether it's to platoon with the other attacking players or play for a different La Liga team where he'd see more minutes than he's had at Everton

His big thing, from a Barcelona perspective, is getting minutes and while Everton was a smart choice before they had this great season now they will look to build on their project and that may not coincide with giving their loanee minutes for his development as it, understandably, wouldn't be a priority

For Gerard, the other concern (Apart from whether Alexis, Pedro & Tello will all still be playing for the club) is the emergence of Adama, Munir & Dongou...There's always the risk that other youth players will find their place in the rotation ahead of a player that isn't present to win their spot...Which is why I think Deulofeu should return

On the flip side, loaning back out to Everton other attacking players like Adama or Dongou can be beneficial to both clubs considering Deulofeu is the player who represents the biggest promise for the club, atm

Definitely try & keep him for another year if we can. At the moment he is better used as an impact player off the bench and it's great to have him coming on running at tired defences after 70 minutes. I think that with his pace he should do what Suarez, Sturridge & Sterling have been doing and that's just running at defenders in the box, how many penalties have they won this season? Also if we get into Europe then it's another reason for Barcelona to loan him out again as he'll get that experience as well.

I'd imagine the loan fee and wages are fairly cheap for a decent young lad I'd say keep him unless we buy another winger then we should be playing them ahead of a loanee, but I don't see that happening.

If you remember what Ronaldo was like when he first went to utd, I think Deulofeu is better than that. He's needs to pass when needed and improve his shooting a lot but I think he could be the nuts in years to come. Enjoy it while we can I say. He'll be even better next season.

if dela notices this, why does he keep crossing it to the places where he knows nobody will get on the end of? gets his head up and pull it back would be a better option surely. still learning though.
