I remember watching an interview with David Beckham, the best crosser to ever play the game, who said that's exactly what he did - not worrying about where the CFs are, just put the ball into an area he would want it as a CF. It's up to the strikers to get into those places.

It's like the old ball across the 6y line mate, its down to a forward to make the most of those balls rather than the winger not playing them because the forwards don't make the runs, anyone who remembers Lineker for us will know exactly what i mean

What I do not understand is, when Deulofeu does put in a quality ball in to the box, it is a tap in for someone - but no one makes the run. Is this not discussed in training - do they not watch each game, after it is played?

Is right.

90% of the time a bad cross is one that goes out of play or goes straight to the keeper. Anything else is a good cross and the fault lies with the centre forward for failing to connect to it.

Does he have a left foot? For a player as highly rated as him im surprised if he doesn't. He's had so many opportunities to cut back and unleash a shot on his left but he never does it. Frustrating.

Still want him to stay mind.

He's changed games and scored important goals. He's well worth keeping. We'd be fools to lose a player who changes games.

I think most of us would agree that last night proved we only need Kev or Del, not both. Kev is learning to be less selfish, is scoring and assisting, but he's our player. The only reason I can see for loaning and developing players that we probably won't be able to buy is the hope that teams like Barcelona will keep loaning us talented players.

As for Del, I would have preferred to see him come on as an impact sub. I know Bob had one eye on the Untied game but I also reckon we would have won last night had Mac, Nais and possibly Ossie played the first half and been rested second half.

Keep . Would like to see some variety from him though going fwd. If he becomes less predictable will become more effective would love to see him clip the ball into the box for players to attack from time to time just to keep the defenders guessing , otherwise promising .A second season, if offered , could see his decision making improve and thus be more of an impact, keep.

Great post! I also do not understand this. We've watched him beat his man for fun multiple times a match and then everyone in the world knows he's going to run a ball on the ground too far out for the keeper to come and yet wonderful balls just roll by our attackers across the face of goal begging for even a breath of air to knock them in. He doesn't frustrate me nearly as much as our other attaching players who must see this pattern hundreds of times in training and still don't make runs to that spot where he inevitably puts the ball for them literally on a silver platter.

Osman's been consistently poor these past few weeks and could put a pass to feet last night. I'm not concerned who plays out wide. We just can't have three of them and Ross, who's defensively poor, in the same side.

I agree about Naismith and Mac. Naisy's good at finding space between the lines and around the box. Just what we needed.

I think Bob tried to blow them away last night to send a message. It backfired. I'm not too upset though. I spent 5 years hoping and praying for a manager who was bold and to see Everton blow sides away!

He's a match winner. Yeah, he has off nights. If he didn't he wouldn't be here. And I can't think of a single attacking player we have that doesn't have those nights (other than #daretonaismith obviously).

He offers a threat when the rest aren't doing it.

His crosses are often pretty damn good. Not his fault no one's there to meet them.

He's predictable in that he always goes down the flank, but then he's predictable in that he always seems to succeed and beat his man. That is a huge asset. I'd love to have him for another season. Him, McGeady and Mirallas all offer different things to the team.

As people say re the crossing, it's Lukaku's job to beat the man to the front post. If he did it regularly he'll score every time because 1) Deulofeu's crosses are that good, 2) Lukaku is actually decent and can put them away.

This is what wound me up so much last night about Lukaku, he's picking the ball out 35 / 40 yards out, a couple of occasions on the bloody half way line and when it went wide and Deulofeu put in a superb 6 yard ball he would be on the edge of the box. Everyone in the country knows what he does, yet can't stop him because he's that good with the ball at his feet. Our attackers seem have a brain meltdown and forget this.
