He needs to complete his legacy of having the oldest starting eleven in the Premier League.

He needs at least another few seasons to get the average age over 30 years of age.

Plus...... YUMMY YUMMY I LOVE GRUEL IN MY TUMMY.

Shake his hand and say thanks at the end of season and then move the club forward with a better Manager and better team.

….it sounds so easy, ‘with a better manager’ but appointing a ‘better manager’ isn’t as straightforward as it seems.

He left us with a Dads Army first team last time around.

Moyes manages for Moyes. He'll avoid revolt by protecting and playing senior pros whether they're up to it or not.

That is mainly because we have been so terrible at it for the past 10 years mostly in the Moshiri and Kenwright era. There are definitely better Managers than Moyes around and it is up to TFG to find that someone who can take the club forward. I don't think it will be that hard tbh. I would be very surprised if they thought Moyes was that person although having said that, they may still want an extended period of moderate stability and wait. Have to just wait and see what happens.

'Better' in my opinion is appointing a manager who plays tactics from this century.

I know your a fan of 19th century football, you must be like a pig in muck going from your man Dyche to Moyes.

Depends on what manager can be brought in. The advantage with Moyes is he buys time to get the right one in, if the right one isn't available, no use grasping at a hopeful, steady as she goes until...

caveat - If a prospective manager has a couple a key targets coming with him then make the move. But it also maybe that Moyes can bring in some players (like from WH) that add to an ensured rebuild that targets the CL within a reasonable time frame.

The build is just as important as the manager right now, imo, if we are ever getting past having the conference league as the ambition. A good dose of nerve and patience is required.

(Don't want to see DM here in a couple seasons though unless titles are involved)

Not sure on this one...

positives
+ it's been a much better season than the last three and we're comfortably out of the relegation places
+ Garner improved under Moyes
+ players seem to like him (hard to really tell until he goes, then the stories come out)
+ away form

negatives
- not tactically flexible
- doesn't use his full squad
- doesn't use his substitutes to good effect
- not enough buys in the summer have made an impact on the team, only KDH and Grealish
- poor cup performances
- home form

At the start of the season I would have taken 10th with no relegation stress, especially with how it looked on our trip to America with a squad of about 13 players, but we've been so close to Europe to fall away at the end would be disappointing to say the least.

I'm not sure I trust him with targeting and signing players, and unless we do get the right players then next season will probably be a repeat of this one.

We'd need to appoint someone who is a real step up from Moyes and I don't know who that would be, so I think at the moment I'm not against him finishing his contract, but we need to get in a stable place for the next manager.

Absolutely not. If you want make the case that he should be allowed to see out his current contract before we judge him fully and then make a decision following that, then that's fine. I can see logic to that. But he's done nothing to warrant an extension as things stand. Absolutely nothing.

Nah....say bye, thanks for what you have done...and just go and get the best manager and win the league and all the cups, and ONLY sign top class young players that will succeed and NOT fail...... whats so hard about that !?!

Anyone who does not want this, is a Moyes sympathizer....you have NO ambition, and have the club you deserve....oh and YOU are part of the problem.

It all comes down to who we're going to replace him with. If we legitimately have someone credible lined up then he could go tomorrow for all I care but it would be beyond moronic to just get rid for some daft flavour of the month who will come in and set us right back to our pre Moyes state.

This argument of seeing out his contract puts this summers transfer window up in the air.

Do you go and splash 100 odd million on players he has a say over?
Then he walks away next summer and we have players like ageing Soucek or John Stones around the squad.

The club need to get rid or back him and renew his contract.
The worst thing that can happen is somewhere in the middle which we are all debating.
