I remember being so excited that we were in the Champions League...then it seems we were out embarrassingly of everything by September and I felt worse than if we'd never been it. It was like we didnt deserve nice things and got punished. I swear for me THAT was the beginning of the malaise and we became " a small team living in the past". . Not sure thats exactly the way it happened but that is how my brain processed it over the years...

It was a sliding doors moment really. The money just from competing in the Champions League group stages alone would have transformed the club. Although Kenwright would probably have found a way to pocket all the cash for himself regardless.

Ive become a huge critic of Moyes and would like to see him gone in the summer. That being said I feel the club is in a relatively healthy financial place in comparison to recent times and are a comfortably boring safe EPL team under Moyes. The time for huge protests has passed...that was the Kenwright, Moshiri bollocks...we survived it. That being said, we shouldnt just be quiet and grateful for scrappy points at home, ridiculous signings and team selections and piss poor play that really isnt " progress" despite what the table may or may not sugguest. Being told to shut up, and quit your whining has no place if your motto is "Nil satis Nisi Optimum"...just sayin...

Yes, because as things stand England is way out in the CL 5th spot coefficient. Two countries get an extra spot, and England has almost surely locked one of them up.

That means 5 for CL, 2 for Europa, 1 for Conference league: 8 total. Now technically if a PL team wins the CL and 1 wins the EL England could get 10 spots....but the extra two spots would only go to specifically those teams if they didnt finish high enough, so it wouldnt help us.

Sorry about that mate. It just that we need to lose the fear and try and be a bit more ambitious in our thinking and mindset etc.

Moyes has stabilised us and fair dues to him for that, but i wouldn't be in favour of him getting a contract extension.

Is that not dependent on who wins the champions league? The finalists last season were PSG and Inter Milan. I'd be surprised to see an English team in it this year.
