Sean Dyche

Yeh we went backwards under him. Same with Lampard. That’s why both got sacked. Moyes our PPG is also probably going backwards but we’re not in danger so less talk about him being replaced (but not none).

I’m not trying to pick on Dyche here, just being factual, which he loves.

If I take 3 steps forwards then take 2 back, am I further forward than when I started or have I gone backwards?

We went backwards in his final season from where he’d progressed us to the season before. Overall he improved the position of the club which is a fact.

Take the Spurs job Sean, it should be an absolute piece of cake for a manager of your stellar track record in keeping teams up (just ignore the two literal relegations). £850m squad, you only need to win 3 football matches in 9 games with it, that’s only 33% which is barely higher than your career average win ratio. What have you got to lose?

You said he didn’t take us backwards by any metric. I provide substantiated evidence he did. That’s all.

You are smart enough to know that you’re being facetious here. At best you’re trying to get off with a semantic sidestep but you know full well you can’t jus state an absolute and then complain that people haven’t picked up your numerous qualifiers to that statement.

Surely big hard proper football bloke Sean Dyche isn’t scared of the Spurs job is he? Christian Purslow agrees he’s the perfect man for teams in dire situations. Surely this is as easy a couple months work as he’s ever going to get? This is what Cloughie trained you for Sean, what would Gary Birtles think if you ran away from this challenge?

By any metric....

Oh not that one, that's irrelevant

Erm yeah it is because funnily enough arbitrarily selected numbers of games mid season are completely irrelevant when discussing the direction of the club over a number of seasons.

Maybe I should just take the worst run of form over Moyes’s first spell and just call him a crap manager for it. It’s a ridiculous take.

Oh so not any metric then.

Objectively - we went backwards under Lampard. He didn't improve us. We sacked Benitez with us in 15th, 6 points clear. Benitez did more to keep us up that season. In his full season Lampard had us at our lowest tally ever and 19th/level on points with 20th when he was sacked. Only Mike Walker has a worse record as Everton manager than Lampard. But he punched the air/was trendy so fans give him a massive pass. Celebrated staying up like we won a trophy. Hugging/endorsing the board. He follows GOT on Instagram and so I can see his online status and I'm convinced the bloke spent longer on Instagram than he did managing the club - he was never off the bloody thing.
