Sean Dyche

I don't get the hate for him. I'm not in love with him or his football but he did the job he was paid to do.
The only Manager I've ever despised was Koeman, and that's because he thought he was too good for us and told our best player to leave.
But I've no hard feelings with Dyche, I'm honestly surprised he never threw his hand in with the circus upstairs and then the points deductions.
Some managers would have walked away.
Whose gonna remind @Seathestars about Benitez?

Hate spurs. But would feel sorry for them if they had to suffer him. (I know it’s a grappa tweet but I feel sorry for anyone having to suffer his godawful football).

Can I have a link to this?

  • Is this not you echoing Dyche saying the reason it wasn't working in the last season was down to his contract status?

Right here is where you say you aren't surprised players weren't listening to him as they knew Dyche was off.

I misinterpreted/misread what you had written here as saying that you had heard Dyche say they stopped listening to him as half of them knew Dyche was off.

You can't have a situation where you allow a manager to see out their contract. It's not helpful, and will be a negative factor. Dyche said players stopped listening to him, and I'm saying I'm not surprised given his limited style needs buy in more than most/half of them were off that summer, and the other half knew Dyche was off.

Here you lay the blame for the poor results on the fact they weren't listening and and you said they weren't listening because they knew Dyche was off.

The question I was driving at in response to all of this to begin with was a simple one.

Did the players stop listening to him because he was a crap manager who got crap results with his crap tactics?

Or was it because of contract uncertainty making them feel like they didn't need to listen to Dyche as he was unlikely to be here after the season?

You suggested it was the latter in that post above I feel it far more likely it was the first.

As you said, nobody knows if they did stop listening and if they did, why did they.

All we know for certain is he got crap results and deserved the sack for taking a mid table team to 3 wins in 19.

Laughing. Come off it. You skirted around me asking very direct for the source three or four times, than tried to bail out "I'll leave it there".

Usually I'd give you the benefit of doubt but as I've said in the past - even as recent as an hour or so before this exchange - you make up imaginary arguments/points all the time.

Ok pal, you've made your mind up.

I quoted your post back to you and you kept asking for a source and ignoring that it was your words I was referring to despite me telling you that clearly.

None of this changes the fact that it's just as likely if players decided not to listen to him that it was because of who he was and how crap a manager he was rather than his contract status.

I see.

Here's another example of you just making something up;

At no point there whatsoever have I "layed the blame for the poor results on the fact they weren't listening"

I mentioned what Dyches said, and I shared my view that I wouldn't be surprised if they did stop listening (based on the context which was his contract length). Absolutely no reference there at all to results. You've just made it up.

Nobody said this, you made it up. Strawman.
