Bournemouth is the only team Dave, and Dyche blew that making the wrong subs

So see, the poor tactician cost us 3 points

Players blew it...because they're not good enough to put BOTH sides of the game together in one match.

Hence we have to go to our strongsuit: defending.

Totally fine with the result. He's been here now for 20 months and let's say the first 4 months was all about keeping the club in the league no matter what, but now he's had to develop the team in 16 months. For that I see very little, despite we have not many footballers to play good technical football.

Defensively it worked well last season, last few games we looked a bit more stable again, but far from where we were. For me progress this season, would also be better with the ball to finish in the same region again.

It was/is his chance to prove himself with a better squad than Burnley that he can make a squad playing But you see Doucoure on the pitch back to back, with his first touch and passing must be one of the worst in the league. McNeil was moved to keep Doucoure on, who was for me the 2nd worst player on the pitch apart from Tarkowski.

I know the stats under Dyche with/without Doucoure, but keep playing players like him doesn't get us better in possession he's an obstacle or like others say Donkey. Lindström was pretty bad against Palace, but he's one of the better players on the ball and showed hints he can get good in a combo of Ndiaye and McNeil. Lacks of efficiency though yet.

He shouldn’t be part of our future - if we want to change it to something more expansive.

Think we have some space to experiment t this year, maybe with Chermitti and Broja, I suspect we are going to be fairly comfortable.

No mate, it didn’t. And I’ll break down the discussion for you:

You’ve said we don’t hit it aimlessly and we have a plan to win the second ball. You’ve then citied Aston Villa as an example.

This didn’t happen; the goals against Villa were:
1. Onana was arsing about with the ball in midfield and McNeil won it of him and the ran and shot
2. A free kick

So neither goal against Villa was the result of a long ball, that we challenged for and pressed which created a goal

What did each side get after the game? The same. Therefore this graph has what meaning? I bet our graph against Bournemouth looked great for 87 minutes but I’ll take the 1 point today over the zero we got then.

Can’t you actually see that playing like this means, results go against you more often than not. Instead of looking at 2 games in isolation

Don't think we defended well at all today. Newcastle walked through us with ease most of the game. We rode our luck imo.

Happy enough with the point given how poor we were. This manager cannot be here next year though.

We comfortably swatted this Newcastle side 3-0 in the same game last season, we were lucky for a missed pen and a goal line clearance not to deservedly lose tonight. We’re supposed to progress not regress
