….he was excellent at times last season. He’s certainly got a role coming off the bench or as back up.

And at times his play was nothing short of embarrassing. Am sorry Kind Sir but we go our separate ways on this one.

I usually say we need to move away from the old boys club mentality but players like Leighton Baines and Seamus Coleman should definitely be around the club

He's a nice fella but this jobs for the boys approach hasn't got us anywhere to this point and I'm not too keen on us extending it. He's been a great servant to the club but if he plans on playing for a few more years I would hope it's not here either. Too much sentiment at Everton.

You almost get the feeling players at times tell the club when they're finished instead of the other way round.

He's been decent for us in the past but we all knew 2 seasons ago he was finished. I also don't believe that any player coming on should be just "doing a job".

A fan of Seamus but I'm not so certain Benitez holds much sentimentality regarding players. If he gets a new contract I would be confident he will have earned it.
