Scouse dialect?

Not seen this before, I often wondered what a few of the quotes meant when posted, great thread! windmills*!!

I love your profile pic. We had King Charles Spaniels for years until they got too overbred. Total gluttons. The last one we had actually: I swear this true. We gave her, her dinner and she comes back out of the kitchen to watch us eating and actually burst into tears to guilt trip us into giving her our food. I have never seen anything like it. This dog was angelic looking, a black and white Spaniel, and was an utter pig.

Dunlaoghaire is a boss place .... spent many a day/night getting smashed in Scotts Bar...... been a couple of years since I was last there though.

Scotts, mate. Good hang out that. Did you ever go to Macdonaghs in Dalkey, that was my local. Excellent boozer. I don't go to pubs anymore, the fun vibe has changed over here and its got too expensive -- but that was a cool watering hole. Fair play to you for knowing my stomping ground. Dun Laoghaire was the best town in Ireland. Things have changed sadly, but hasen't everywhere?

Lovely jubbly. Lid - lad, or as Lennon would say la. And barm, roll. I heard another good one: mug of splosh. I imagaine that is a mug of tea. I love dialects, scouse is without doubt the hardest. I'm getting there. I'll check out that link Moutsgoat. Cheers lids (y)
Fixed that for you

Can't ever remember going there to be honest mate... the best times we had there were when we used to cross over at 3 in the morning after the club where we are shut... we would spend the ( then ) 3 hour crossing drinking more in the bar and then it was easy to find a pub open in Dunlarghie.... back on the boat and back in the bar, stock up on duty free fags and be home for tea the next day ..

Shame we never met up. Good old boozer on the docks that does the best Guinness in the world, Mckennas.' I always enjoy meeting scousers, great sense of humour. We had this Everton lad in my local many years back called Andrew: he was joke after joke - you'd be on the floor getting sick laughing at his jokes. God, he was so funny.

Ah FFS! I'm genning up on the scouse dictionary and I'm getting it, then this: Monster: A polite acknowledgement of a sound rip. Rip is not in the scouse dictionary.

Not a scouser me lad..... welsh and proud... from the very tip of Anglesey......90 mins away now.

My mother is Welsh 100% born and bred and my old man is English - so God knows what that makes me? I was born in county Dublin, lived here all my life -- so I'm a cross breed of all three I guess.

"Two nations separated by a common language."

Sometimes I forget most of you boys are Brits...then I read a post where I recognize all the words but together they make no sense, and suddenly my head reads it in Paul McCartney's voice. That dictionary thread just made my life much easier.
