Scharner and Ljungberg

Scharner would fit the back four well, yes I'd go for him but not Freddie, his days are long gone, he is too lazy.
 

Looking at it, there seem to be a few stories around today which say Cars is off to Wigan and Scharner will be coming the other way.

“I’ve got no desire to spend another year in footballing no-man’s land, battling against relegation,” said Scharner, who helped Wigan avoid the drop by scoring in the 2-1 last-day win over Sheffield United.

“I am good enough to take on bigger responsibilities, like the Champions League or the UEFA Cup. I am under contract with Wigan until 2009 but who knows what might happen during the summer.

“I hope Chris Hutchings will change Wigan’s style of play otherwise we will once again be fighting relegation right up until the final day.”

Appears to have been over here long enough to understand the nuances of the English language - especially what "come and get me" means...;)

I wouldnt like to see scharner come in personally i think weve a derth of "utility players" i.e. who can do a job in a number of positions but not outstanding in any of them. 4 mill is a bit over the top for me to in terms of what i think hes worth. Id rather we signed Barton. Or took a punt on Kightley at wolves, barnes at derbey, or brunt sheff weds, cook at qpr.
 
sounds like another simon davies, just dont bring him here, we are happy enough with carsley.

Is scharner any better than what we've got at the moment? I don't think so. 4 million for a backup? Save the money for someone else.

Sorry lads but Scharner is a goal scorer and a useful centre back. Don't forget we will need to cover for Joey when he goes off to the ANC for six weeks starting Jan 2008:o We have no one to cover for him as you can't expect Stubbsy to keep going forever, sign him(y)

Isn't Joleon a centre back who's filling in as a left back?
