For the cameras.Loving people saying it was straight at him,
Why did he dive to his right then?

That could be said of any save though, it’s only saved if it’s within reaching distance.View attachment 345190
Not taking away from his save, if it wasn't close to him he wouldn't have got a hand to it in the first place due to how hard it was hit.
Posting the actual video of it would be better seeing as you're going to the trouble,View attachment 345190

…..Pickford’s save off Zirkzee was phenomenal, still think it’s gone in every time I see it.

Shouldn't take you long to find one with the worst possible angle
Yep agree about the feet bit (thought that as soon as I posted but couldn’t be arsed editing). I actually think Pickfords one of the best in the league at shuffling in position but obviously no need for that yesterday. The speed with which the ball was hit though, just amazing 1) how fast his reflexes were and 2) having a strong hand to push onto the bar. I think a lot of keepers even if they could get to it, may only be able to help it into the net. Some shots you have to use your feet in conjunction with your hands to make up the ground to get across. Those are the ones where the talent shines through. This required a slight lean at a good height.
Everything is a speed/distance calculation, the harder the shot the less time to react, the closer you have to be to get something on it. This was maximum power so it always had to be very close to him.
It's a wonderfull save but the ball had long since left the vicinity when Jordan was at full stretch. How fast it all happened made it more for the cameras.
This is an absolutely crazy take. The ball was absolutely smashed at him. Some shots you have to use your feet in conjunction with your hands to make up the ground to get across. Those are the ones where the talent shines through. This required a slight lean at a good height.

Similar to the Utd save, as soon as the ball left Tonali's boot my brain had already given them a goal because it was basically past Pickford when he got a touch on it. It was absolutely incredible. It needs to be watched at full speed. Non of this slow mo stuff as at full speed you appreciate it more. It was travelling at some speed.
Yes it was fairly close to him but I've seen many similar shots fly past the keeper due to how much power was on the shot.
Rubbish. Every save a goalkeeper makes is by definition within his reach. Another goalie doesn't even move for that Tonali shot and everyone would assume it's unsaveable.Agree with this, of course it's still a world class save due to the pace it is hit with, but it is close enough for someone with Pickford's reactions to get a hand to it. And if you can do that as a keeper, then it is disappointing if you don't keep it out of the net.
His save for England v Colombia was better.

It obviously wasn't straight at him though because he had to move to save it. It's a ludicrous comment. The video is out there for all to see. I just slowed it down and took a screenshot to answer your question why some people say it was straight at him.
