I've never personally wanted Moyes to go, at all.

The changes he has made and the improvements at the club since he joined have been massive, which is why in this modern era we all have bigger expectations, which is why the result on Saturday put everything in context, for me anyway.

But I think most of us are used to disappointment, old and young fans alike.

As Brennan mentioned, we bounced back after a truly disappointing outcome in the Semi-Final last year, can we do it again?
I don't see why not. But the players played a lot worse on Saturday than they did in the Semi-Final, arguably with a better squad against a weaker team.

However, we are Everton, we don't lose many games. If the players get a kick up the backside (which they will) then the game on Saturday could give welcome relief to the most hardened Everton supporters. But many will still cheated and angry etc.

I just don't get worked up over it, it's not worth it at all. It's football, but disappointments happen less for us than they do for teams like Reading, QPR etc. I'll enjoy the good moments, and I'll criticise the players and manager when it's necessary, and make my voice heard. But a result is a result, nothing will change that, and getting upset over something which is unchangeable is just pointless.

Moyes ain't going anywhere until the end of the season, however, as I work and talk to people at Everton, the staff really are fed up with Moyes, his dominion over certain things. Finch Farm is a good example, spending etc. And some peoples jobs are on the line because Moyes is dithering about over his future, that it way more in important than football in my opinion, and in that sense he's being extremely selfish.

Season is gone for me. Not a chance we're finishing above Arsenal, and I doubt well finish above Liverpool based on the run-ins. Would just like to see more gametime for younger players. Oviedo, Duffy, Barkley, Vellios and more starts for Victor.

start same team as semi final give them a chance to redeem themselves makes sense surly their hurting as bad as the fans and wud relish the chance to put things right!

The wait for the Team Sheet HAS to be the one of the most anticipated moments of Moyes Tenure.

Let it be said though, that in the great scheme of Everton Football Club, losing this time, might actually be winning. The groups baying for change were never going to get anywhere while things on the field are looking positive.

I'm predicting he'll pick Pointy, as stubborn as the Last Scot in Highlander, and we get mugged.

I actually don't want us to bounce back with a wonderful victory this weekend.
No, actually, that's pretty much unacceptable to me---
If we come out with a positive result against the Champions of England when it pretty much doesn't matter anymore, having just been humiliated by perennial relegation-turds Wigan in a match of absolute importance-- well, I think that's actually the kind of result that will reinforce my desire for a new coach in the summer, one that does not have the mental handicap of being unable to play against rubbish teams.

I would almost bet my life the line up will be:

Howard
Coleman
Heitinga
Distin
Baines

Mirallas
Neville (c)
Osman
Pienaar

Fellaini
Jelavic

It's hard to imagine Moyes changing. He never has before so why now?

Starting 11 - Man City

After watching that crap on Saturday, you get the inevitable feeling that City can put 4 or 5 past us. It something we could really do without. A visit of Fulham or West Ham would have been a nicer cushion than the visit of the champions but we'll move forward and we usually step up against the biggens.

Mucha for me is unstable. Granted he's done ok but Everytime someone shoots you fear the worst. I dont have that feeling with Howard.

Again Heitinga for me is also unstable. His sulking is still evident. He doesn't want to be here and I don't think he cares if we win lose or draw.

However sometimes you've got to go with what you've got and Mucha and Heitinga are probably the best options at the moment. If Jagielka isn't back then Heitinga will have to play.

My opinion on Fellaini is this. Drop him. After that performance and the accusations against him he doesn't deserve a starting 11 place.

So here's the team I'd play.

Mucha

Coleman Heitinga Distin Baines

Mirallas Gibson Barkley Pienaar

Anichebe Naismith

Out:
Osman
Fellaini
Neville
Jelavic

What Moyes will pick:

Mucha

Coleman Heitinga Distin Baines

Mirallas Gibson Osman Pienaar

Fellaini

Jelavic/Anichebe

Mate, there's a thred on the same page about the same thing. I thought you might like to look at it as you are writing about it.

Are you ok?

This is about the starting 11. Stop going round the forum policing threads you're not a Mod. You might be on the saints forum but not here.

City is a tricky game to make massive changes. In a way the players need to go out and give us a performance full of spirit and fight. Plus the crowd are going to be hostile, not sure Barkley deserves his first start in those circumstances against the current champions!

Mucha
Coleman heitinga distin baines
Fellaini Gibson
Mirallas osman pienaar
Anichebe

Subs: GK Duffy Neville Oveido Naismith Barkley jelavic.

Barkley MUST see game time now till season end. He could play any of those 3 possistions behind the striker. Not for this game but Duffy and Oveido need to get on the pitch more too.
