What has made you change your mind?

Mostly the sheer amount of press all released in the same week, all saying the same thing.

Im not somebody who believes the press as a rule and its sometimes hard to spot, but what we are seeing the last few days is a an effort by somebody to make sure everybody is very aware that Sam wont see past May.

I mean...it's almost like you don't read this forum.

And even ASKING that question gives me a migraine. Your idea is to stick with someone who has NEVER won anything, whos idea of football is, and you admit this, terrible, who throws players under the bus, who never takes responsibility for ANYTHING and you ask "who could do better"?

Jesus wept..
You didn't reply to his question.

If Allardyce makes a top ten finish then I can see him staying on until his contract ends as stability will be key when a new manager takes over.....

I was asking why you would sack him for doing what he was brought in to do....

If you sack him then you must have a plan to replace him....
Up to very recently I agreed with you but this week the articles on some more reputable papers and more damningly the poor performances in game after game may well have lost Sam the chance to keep the job for a longer term.

The only thing that may save him is if the club is unable to get the first choice manager in quickly or even in the summer.
I believe Moshiri will not appoint a Silva or a Fonsexa. I think he may have learned the hard way. I think he will go all out to attract an elite manager.

You may not like the question but it has to be asked....
We need a long term plan things will not be resolved overnight, we need a manager who can deliver a plan to take us forward...we will then need patience while the new manager embeds his plans as it will take time...
I'm confused by your question? I agree with everything you said about the plan for the future but you surely can't believe that Allardyce is the man to be entrusted by the board to enact such a plan. What is it from the last few weeks and the performances that we have turned in that has provided us with any evidence that Allardyce is the man to satisfy Moshiri's stated ambitions? Contributors to this forum can name any number of potential managers, but what would be the point of that? What is clear is that Allardyce, despite his proclamations, is far too limited a tactician to be entrusted with the long term future of this club.

Is sam still staying on as general manager?

Don't like the way we are playing away from home it is dismal indeed....
But he is doing what he was brought in to do & he is not a poor manager...

He was brought in to stop the relegation rot. He’s just about done that (in pretty unconvincing fashion, given the players at his disposal). He was never brought in as a long term manager, so he needs to go now that his role has been fulfilled.

His image has been tarnished & he is not my idea of an Everton manager but tell me who would you put in his place if you were to sack him...?

There are plenty of managers out there who deserve a chance over FS. There will be plenty more in the summer too.

It's not even so much how many journos started running those stories, but rather that it's all the ones who have connections to the club, as clear as anything it's been a managed briefing to them all.

Interesting now is what names those same ones come forth with...

I expect Artetas name to be in one of hunters, bascombe, kings etcs stories soon btw, in order to test the feeling amongst supporters. As anything wrote by them normally spurs in a few of those would you have him polls and stories etc

If Arteta has some latent talent at managing, I’d rather he demonstrate it at the likes of Fleetwood Town or its ilk rather than a Leviathan of our standing, lest he become the Eubank Junior of the footballing world - and of course, in our best interests too.

Guardiola should have earned his corn at managing someone like Sabaddell as well, would have become a much better manager and earned the right for a big job etc. What where Barca thinking god knows really.

Same as Ajax hiring Cruyff soon as he retired from playing in the US, should have made him show he could manage first etc.

Three of the top 6 managers in this league - Pocch, Wenger and Guardiola - who all have worked with him as a player wanted him as soon as he retired from playing, the people who run the coaching courses and people on it have said he was the best theyve ever had come through that.

Sometimes talent beats experience

Madrid are manged by someone with no experience prior - he won the CL ofc with them straight away, Milan are similarly managed by a first timer in Gattuso and have seen there season turn around and he's showing he has the ability now.

Simeone for example had managed never in Europe when Athletico came calling, huge gamble as not having managing in Argentina prepares you any better for managing Athletico than say for example being an assistant manager as that team would do, etc etc etc
