If he thought that he wouldn’t be bothering to defend himself with such vigour. What is interesting is that he has shifted from ‘blame the players’ to ‘well Arsenal can do that to anyone’ . It’s a s close to a Mea Culpa’ as you’re ever going to get with him, he can’t bear to lose face. Let’s face it, whispering sweet nothings into the ear of your typical footy fan is where he scores zero out of ten, and probably why he’s moved on so many times. Moyes was superb at it, and Roberto. Ultimately though it’s al down to results, he’s had a disastrous week mainly of his own making but if he gets three points on Saturday alot of the anger will be parked

Actually, if he thinks that he WILL defend himself with vigor. The reason being he has a massive ego. Poor results are a hit to his ego, so to also throw on that he knows hes getting canned in the summer means he doesnt want to be question on it, but since he has to be, will throw everyone else under the bus to pretend in his own mind hes quite good.

The fact hes even more vigorous than ever defending himself speaks to that, he knows the writing on the wall and hes desperately trying to write the story before it comes out in the summer.

Can we not just sack him now? I worry the regression many of the players are going through may be more profound than we give them credit for. So many of our promising players are at critical ages from a development standpoint, and the Allardyce influence may leave a lasting fragrance of mediocrity on them that they may be unable to cleanse themselves of.
