He did at first.

Then he bizarrely changed it up and started to chop and change the team every week.

Not a massive Williams fan but I thought him and Holgate looked like forming at least a half decent partnership then he shoehorned Keane back in.

Alternatively you can say the West Ham result forced him in a way to continue with the same team selection almost, good results followed using that, but soon as he had a chance he changed it to more like what he wanted and that is when it went to pot mate

It's been unhappy and quiet mate, i wouldn't say it's gotten toxic, more just REALLY down and spirited, a hammering off both city and the derby will see the place turn massively on the fat sloth

His initial boost was needed but I think now is the time to cut ties especially with teams below us improving like Watford, West Ham and Swansea. Still think Brighton and Huddersfield will deffo go down so just got to find one other team worse than us.

His pressers and interviews are becoming increasingly prickly, negative, resigned & stubborn. Team selections are driving the fan base crazy, upsetting any momentum we might have & preventing any sort of partnerships from being built.

Personally I think he's realised he's too outdated and wants the pay off now to retire on.

It's a total myth he improved defenders. As a team yes we were defending better for a period but throwing a blanket of bodies metres ahead of the back line isn't genius. As soon as the shackles were off slightly the defenders were shown up for what they are. He hasn't improved their decision making (arguably worse given the walkabouts the CB go on constantly), he hasn't improved their cohesion as a unit (in a 4 or 5), he hasn't improved consistency with constant selection mysteries.

We should have a back 4 nothing else and there should have been a very clear favoured 4, for me Jagielka and Holgate with Martina and Kenny wide. This should only be changed through necessity and other players regaining fitness.

He's way out of his depth.

I'd like him gone now but it's unlikely to happen. I wouldn't be surprised if he walked away before the end of the season though with a golden handshake. The sooner we reach 40 points, he sods off and we can pretend he was never part of our club the better.

we needed a perm appointment, many many managers we would have got that result bounce from, may as well sack him now, the likely bounce from a new manager will see us more than safe anyway and maybe he will carry that into next season if it's the right man

I have said before (doesn't mean I am right obviously...) I reckon he has been brought in as a problem solver, basically someone to come in assess the side and decide who is worth keeping and who we need to bin off and he will be gone in the summer. The extra 12 months was put in place if by some stroke of luck we clicked under him and could continue. That obviously has not happened and it will be his pay off for doing the dirty work they brought him in for.

It would be ignorant of me to dismiss these names (other than Silva) as I don't pay attention to clubs abroad to be honest. So who do you think are the standout candidates there and what makes you think they would do well at Everton? Taking in to account what they'd walk in to over the Summer if Allardyce was let go?

The 3 i've heard mentioned a lot are Tuchel, Fonseca and less so Favre.

Just had a look at Favre. His time at Hertha Berlin was mixed as he ended up getting sacked late September in his 2nd season there and they were relegated as bottom of the league so that would be a concern. Sounds like he turned Monchengladbach's fortunes around for a period so that's impressive but from reading the Wikipedia write up of his time there, they got knocked out in the CL qualifiers and then struggled with European Football where they fell to 8th. 8th in the German League is worse than 8th in the PL. I noticed he hasn't won a major trophy in a significant league.

Tuchel's record looks mostly impressive but he was in charge of arguably the 2nd biggest club in Germany with Dortmund. Did win a Trophy there but had the likes of Aubemeyang at his disposal. Seems like he did well at Mainz though with far more restricted resources and guided them to 5th so i'd say he looks a credible candidate but it's whether he'd want to come.

Fonseca i've got doubts about as he hasn't managed in a top League. The Portuguese and Ukranian League are not comparable to the Premier League and it looks like he failed in his opportunity at managing a big club in Porto.

Tuchel looks the standout there but you will be able to give a far better opinion i'm sure as i'm just reading about them.

I didn't say that. I was asking for genuine opinions on who we could get, so it's pathetic to just write my opinion off. Of course i've heard of the likes of Tuchel but would you prefer I lied and said I knew in depth about them when I don't pay barely any attention to Dortmund etc?

Of course there will be better managers out there than Allardyce but I was making the point that often people say there are better but don't actually give credible candidates. I don't think Silva for example has proven himself to be an adequate replacement given his managerial performance in the last couple of years.

BIG problem with that idea though mate is that Allardyce tends at every club he leaves to have created a bigger mess than what he inherrited, so as a problewm solver would seem one of the worst choices imaginable.

Christ, just look at the evidence atm, Lookman shipped off, Vlasic on the missing persons list foir the FBI he's not been seen for that long, Schneiderlin meanwhile an ever present, Williams back min the team, Martina the only player to have started every game for him besides pickford.

I'm not having that the likes of Lookman, Vlasic, Klassen are the problem players hence why they have been forced out - and that Williams and Schneiderlin are the good solid pros we can rely on and are in the fold.

In reality if we have hired a manger like him to judge who can stay and who should leave we are in a bigger mess than i thought, cos right now two of the better young players will be firmly in the camp of him saying get rid
