Sky saying a £6m pay off for BFS, did his job and stabilised the team but football died in the process.

£6m !!! That’s a lot of doughnuts

He wouldn't fit in one

As said on other threads focusing on the big Sam conundrum he was not on my original wish list after RK left and not what I believed as a long term option however admittedly I was not totally against him , he became our manager for reasons that has been hotly debated IMO as no one else with any decent record was available and we were in free fall which is his speciality

Therefore I gave him a chance wanting him to succeed with Everton progress as my 1st priority , also I did not despise him as a person , he made mistakes like a number of us do and he paid the price for this

He did the job he came into do I personally was very concerned about our PL status this season and I am thankful to him that we maintained this although it was not enjoyable watching our style of play

I agree He unfortunately did himself no favours and his position has become untenable , as his tenure as manager proceeded I also became increasingly frustrated by his lack of humility , not taking responsibility for defeats or poor performances and how he made no attempt to show respect for the supporters , which may I add seems to be a trend at the higher echelons at Everton

I am not convinced Silva is an ideal choice , I would prefer Emery but again this seems to be wishful thinking , however the timing of Sam leaving needs to happen sooner than later and hopefully also the DOF position being sorted with Brands at the helm

While Mosh is shelling out millions to get rid of the lump is there any chance he can pay for treatment to help us all recover from the mental scars of having to watch the "football" we played this last season?

VERY happy to see the back of him, but also grateful to him for doing the job that was asked of him, even if in retrospect things were probably not as bleak as they seemed. Genuinely thought we could go down for a bit, easy to forget that now.
We'll never know how it could have been but he was a safe bet to keep us up and he did it. That must count as a success of sorts.

Getting some stick AGAIN, on ts.
Aye and Twitter is literally full of vitriol from other fans with “who the hell do Everton think they are”, “Everton are nowhere near as big as they think they are they’re lucky to have big Sam!”, “absolute disgrace the way Everton have treated Allardyce he saved them from certain relegation and now sacked him ungrateful [Poor language removed]”.

Seriously, avoid Twitter for a while it’s not good for your blood pressure!

He's done the job he was brought in to do and will leave with a massive payoff.

I genuinely hoped he would succeed here but his own attitude coupled with the absolute disgrace of a large number of our players has sealed his fate.

So thanks and so long. Next up apparently is Silva who for the record I think will be no better than Allardyce, but this is Everton so I'm resigned to it.
I agree, we could hire Pep and I don't think it would make a difference, so many of the players need to leave, too many for one summer and I don't think the manager would make any difference.
