Salomon Rondon is not only lacking fitness/match-fitness he's also well out of condition, which is unacceptable for a footballer no matter what stage in their career they are at. I can understand him not being up to speed fitness-wise, but his body looks like he's been spending the last few months sitting on the sofa eating doughnuts and watching Netflix all day. Not judging like. Netflix has some decent shows on, and who can resist a lovely doughnut.

Genuine question. Who's worse him or Niasse ?
The "winner" has the same question against Tosun.

And we wonder why this club is in trouble on and off the pitch.

The litany of errors runs deep in the boardroom , DoF office and with respective managers.

What a complete joke of a club we've become.
Niasse was a 1000x better. Considering all our fans apparently want is players that work hard, niasse is the greatest player we have ever had.

Followed closely by Stracq, who just didn't have the goals like niasse.

Niasses best premier league return was 8 goals on 22 games (but only 1080 minutes).
Rondons is 11 goals in 32 games but over 2608 minutes.

If we had Richarlison and DCL fit, when exactly would this fella get a sniff of a chance? He looks absolutely finished.

He must have woken up today, checked out all the social media and just seen video after video of people taking the piss at how bad he looks.

He looked finished after about 12 minutes, which was 6 minutes longer than when he looked finished against Villa.

If it was a loan deal you'd say "sounds, we'll send him back in Jan" but this fella has 2 years on his deal. He's going to have to massively improve and then some more to cut it here.

Shocking that Brands and Benitez think that Rondon and Begovic give adequate cover in their positions and even worse that we have no cover whatsoever at full back.
This could be a very very long season.

The people running the club are to blame not Rondon they run the club like amatuers the recruitment is shambolic and is 100% the reason why we keep going through decent managers who failed to polish the turd
Rondon just walked through the door after vegetating for 4 years mad to have any real expectation on the fella

Finished article I think.

You would have thought Salami's lack of suitability for vigorous exercise would have been detected at our stringent physical before signing him.

Then again, our physical these days seems to be little more then Transfer Dave pulling their kecks down, bending them over a table and stamping "Property of Everton FC" on their arses.

Pretty sure Rondon was signed to come on last 20 minutes to allow Richarlison or DCL to have a blow.

Asking him to put in two starts in a week underlines the striker injury crisis.
well yes, but that's what risk you run when you spend the window going for a 32-year-old who's played in China and Russia for the past two years (amid a pandemic so hardly really played in one of those seasons) and don't get it done until the final day.

I don't mind the signing in what he'd bring fully but him having to be thrown straight in just exposed how mad it was. Like, we got blown off by Dalian in July. Was there no other striker in world football who hadn't been playing in some atrocious leagues and had actually had a pre-season available to come in and offer what Rondon offers?

Not being funny here, Rondon is two months younger than Charlie Austin, who was a free agent this summer.
