Run up to the Derby

They'll inevitably beat us again no matter how in-form we are and how out-of-form they are.
We just have a complete and utter mental block when playing against them. They're our bogey team.

Under Dalglish yep, under Benitez and Houllier too mostly. But we walked over them under Hodgson. If Rodgers loses the dressing room, then for once it might not be our manager who bottles it.

All 3 are tough. They're the games Moyes has show his worth and be tactically aware as they're gonna turn up, park the bus, fight for the ball, hit us on the counter.

It's these types of games where we slip up, where Moyes is usually found wanting.

He sorts that out, itll inject some faith for me that he's got what it takes and we can push on this season.

So far, I'm still iffy, expecting it to go tits up.

If they can make up just one win over us in those 3 games they'll be 5 points behind.

Then when they turn us over in the derby they'll only be 2 points behind.

:(

I haven't noticed too much of that this year. It seems like teams are going for it more and trying to take all 3 points. For example Reading went 2-1 up at Chelsea, Southampton pegged City back to 2-2 at the Etihad and Fulham only lost by the odd goal in 5 at Old Trafford. If games are generally going to be more open it could suit us better.

Opening season rush.

Reading and Saints will be looking to try and be solid now as they're leaking goals, especially away.

Teams have seen us now, they need to defend and we are a bit dodgy on the counter.
