Roy Keane criticises Martinez (do one, Roy)

To be fair considering how much we played the likes of McCarthy last season an outsider can see them as being a little bit over worked compared to other players who are afforded a subs appearance every now and again to give them a break.

Jimmy and seamus will play twice a week every week when fit. No resting or dropping uness they have to be.

He has a point, just badly expressed.

Those two players in particular probably do more running than anyone else in our side and if we play two games in a week those two wouldn't usually be rested. They'd be in the side, playing 90 mins in every game.

As a result of this, certainly this season at least, they've both had a couple of niggles and have missed international games.

Having said that, we've got no reason to rest them to ensure they're fit for Ireland. They're two of our most important players and I couldn't give a **** if they're missing Ireland games or not. All I really care about is seeing them on the pitch for Everton.

Classic club vs country row. Sorry - we pay their wages. If they're fit enough to play for Ireland then all well and good, but we have zero responsibility to ensure that they are. I seem to remember one of our players coming back from an Ireland game last season and being out for about a year. I must have missed the Irish apology on that one

Can see how he got his hard man image with that unrestrained vicious tongue-lashing there, BLASTS is right, Liverpool Echo.

I like Roy Keane, he's the kind of nut case I admire. That to one side, let us consider Giggs, Ryan. How often did Keane pipe up about 'Giggsy' out with injury for Wales on an every time they played basis? Ok ok ok, lets try another - Scholes. Didn't like being forced to left midfield for England so decided to call it a day. Not enough Irish connotations? Ok, hows about Roy Keane that fell out with the then manager and jetted back home from the World Cup 2002.

Now I'm all for mind games in the media to take pressure off players and get the hacks chasing shadows (Ferguson did it, Mourinho does it) and thats all and well. But talk about picking your battles 'Keano'. Hypocritical know nothing divvie.

for McCarthy it's just been unfortunate he picked up two injuries the first one he missed games for Everton and the second one was our last game against Sunderland.
as for Coleman he seems to have missed more games than he's played for Everton this season.
