Seems strange this as we've reportedly put in enquiries for Doyle, Russell and looking at players like Gouffran.
Maybe by area he means physio room

I think he was referring to Owen rather than strikers in general & he hasn't chosen the best words to make it plain that we're not interested in signing a race horse trainer to sit on our bench.

Moyes Niang bid shows that he's in the market for a striker.

i honestly think no one else will come in now. it will be the usual we looked about but nothing fits bla bla bla

To be fair we're pretty notorious for dithering and acting slowly in the transfer market but that's probably half the reason why we get it right as often as we do. We're not a club that can go out and buy someone without being sure he'll work out.

I don't really expect any more permanent signings, maybe just loans to cover center midfield, full backs and possibly the striker role.

agreed. but they are superb at telling us what was want to hear. i just think no one will be coming in now. i hope im proved wrong(y)

Ideally we need a fullback who can play LB and RB as cover. As long as we don't sell anyone, we'll be fine with that until January.

i'd be massively surprised if we don't get at least 1 more body in. Hopefully it'll be one of the players Moyes has been trying for but if not I still think he'll get at least one last minute loan in to make up the numbers (they might not be good enough to improve us though)

He really didnt say anything about strikers in the press conference though, someone asked him if there was any chance of Owen coming in and he just point blank said "no", and that was it.

You only saw the 30 second edited version on SKY:lol:

We need some more bodies. We've got a really small squad. The smallest in the premier league? One full back, a central midfielder and a loanee striker. (Long time lurker on here. First proper post....COYB!)

I think there is too much smoke around the Charlie Adam rumour.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him come (shudder)

I think we will go for a full back of some variety also, probably very cheap and lower level.

We must be looking at some sort of forward player as we were so willing to spend a significant chunk on Niang.
