I can see you disagree with my comment but it would be interesting to here your opinion.

Its been on the rumour mill that he agreed personal terms with Spurs months ago and was told to sit pretty until today so Levy could prize him away for peanuts.

If that's not disrespectful I don't know what is. The lad may appear 'thick' but he's clearly intelligent enough to be told what to do by his advisors/agent.

Wait for the 11th hour 18million bid from Levy. And/or Ross to hand in a transfer request by tea time.

You don't know anything like that.

I agree he probably had Spurs or another club interested come the end of last season and his agent told him to hold off signing. In addition to him and Ronk not getting along.

Terms and fees? No chance of knowing.

It won't be £18mill either. Chelsea have already had £25mill knocked back and are still interested.

1. Its a rumour, not even a particularly strong one as most people seemed to believe no top club would want him this summer.

2. Im not going to judge him because of a rumour

3. Even if it's true then I don't really see it as much of a problem. I've agreed personal terms with potential employers whilst working at another job, millions do it. Ultimately he has a very short career like all footballers and for whatever reasons isn't happy at Everton and wants to do whatever is possible to get the move. He's kept his head down, made no mention of it whatsoever, came back to training on time and just got on with his life.

I can't really have sympathy for Everton for not getting better money because they could have offered him a contract last summer. We also regularly try and ship players off before their contracts run out.... so I find it a bit hypocritical to get on my high horse over contract situations when clubs regularly try and force their way out of contracts if they decide they no longer want a player.

If that happens and we don't tell them to do one then things most definitely are the same. We should be targeting Spurs if we want to move up the table and strengthening them for peanuts would be same old spineless Everton. Today will tell us a great deal about where we are as a club.

Undisclosed fee.

Roughly translated as £30M + add ons for international caps etc
And as he cost us nothing all profit. We have to accept we missed the boat as far as billionaires to whom money is no object (throw money at everything) City got the last of those. Now with all the Prem money about we'll stay outside the top six financially.
