Ross Barkley

All of the so-called top 6 teams have mediocre players on more than £100,000 a week.

who cares what others pay though, that's nothing to do with us. Someone posted before Harry Kane signed a new deal on 90k a week and he's their top player. If other teams pay 100k a week on crap players well that's because they are bad tits.

If Ross turns down 80k a week then more fool him. If Lukaku gets offered 140k a week it's because strikers get premium dollar and no doubt he'll turn that down anyway because he's probably ready to move on..

Us offering Ross 80k a week is in no way a bad reflection on us. He didn't pull his finger out of his arse until around Christmas time where he's finally found form and consistency and that's been down to good solid management, coaching and a general upturn in form of the team.

What others pay does matter though, they're our competition for players. Given our position, 6 teams above us, don't we need to be paying more to players to entice them?
The consistency and upturn in form of him and the team, might be linked to the players in and around him in midfield?

If you want to go out of business sure.

The teams above have stupids amount of money from regular Champions League football, large fanbases or ridiculous owners. The position we are in means we cant just throw money at people straight away. It needs to be built up.

80k for a player like Barkley is more than enough by the way. He is a decent player, hes not bloody Messi.

Messi probably makes 3 times that amount.

End of the day FFP works against us regarding wages. We can't compete with the top clubs.

"Nothing's going to be the same again bla bla", maybe expectations should be raised to meet that, or our large fanbase that we do have?
Neither is Rooney but, he's on about 300k?
