Ross Barkley

Last season 8 goals and 7 assists. A better return than this season when he's been 'rounded out' as a team player.

Give me the old RB any day. The lad looks like he hates it at Everton to me.

Two of those goals were penalties so he really had 6 in 38 games or a goal every 6.33 games. He's scored 4 in 30 or a goal every 7.5 games. Hardly a massive difference. If he'd scored on Sunday as he should have he'd be 5 in 30 or a goal every 6 games so better than last season. If slots on Saturday his ratio will also be better than last season. He also has 8 assists this season equalling last years total in 8 less games. His arse is also visibly smaller. Don't have exact measurement but I'd say at least 3 inches smaller.

Welcome mate. What the above poster was trying to do was shed the slightest bit of light on Martinez embarrassing tenure, so if he can pull any stat from the last two seasons to hammer our manager, he will. Barkley is merely a pawn in his bitter little game. You'll get used to it.

Likely targets will be anyone who is still with us, that was established from before Martinez, so he's hammered Jagielka, Baines and Mirallas.

Also anyone, player or coach who came after him. Prime example will be the Schneiderlin thread, when put into context of how well he has done.

Tribunal rules are for players under the age of 24 and Ross Barkley turns 24 in December 2017. He will be sold this summer if he does not sign! I think we will get £30-40m for him and there may even be a bidding war. I think he may have decided his England prospects will be improved if he plays for a top 4 side asap. A good contract offer should sway him to stay, though hopefully.
The key word is plays. I don't know that he would 100% lock down a spot at a top 4 side and then like Delph, Rodwell and others his career would stall out

The phrase 'I want champions league football' doesn't fill me with confidence that he's staying.I just hope he can see the progress we are making and that playing most weeks will help him improve his finishing and composure not sitting on a bench for Spurs or city. But this is modern football loyalty only seems to stretch so far even if you are a blue playing for Everton.

That phrase usually just means "I want Champions League wages" he must look at the likes of Lingard and Drinkwater on 100k a week and think I am worth more than that.
He isbetter than both of these. Likewise Lukaku - we were offering 140k a week but others of his scoring ability and even not as good get over 200k. We will have to pay it or lose them that's the law of this mad jungle of football.

Ifs and ans and pots and pans.

He's scored four goals.

Not really fussed. Bottled it in too many big games for me.
Go sit on the man city or spurs bench when that continues if you like.

Thats kind of where I am with the lad.

If his agent/him reckon he can get a few bob more a week somewhere else, then fine. Be a bit annoying, but thats modern football. Cant see him as a regular in any higher placed club than us anyrate. Not a dig at Ross, more a nod at the squads those clubs have.

No other team apart from us will have shown him the same patience. If he continues his mental fragility at another team, they'll move him on asap and we'll be looking at another Stoke City or West Brom future for him.
His call. I won't lose sleep.

I have said it before and will say it again but as has been stated ad nauseum he has 'potential' but despite his league and international experience he is still light years behind Deli Alli who has been in the Prem five minutes. If he needs to leave Everton to step up because he can't hack the pressure then as sad as l am to say it he isn't good enough for what we want or need to compete at the highest level. RK is giving him a chance but it is down to Barkley. The lad needs to grow up fast.

I think you are bang on with this - It's all about status and matching up wages wise with your ability in comparison to others .

I can't help but feel the emergence of Tom Davies has probably altered a lot of people's thinking on if Ross were to go. When Rooney went he was the only really talented player to step up from the youth team. Don't get me wrong Ross has come on massively this season but it's not like we don't have any other young blues to get behind
