Ross Barkley

not too sure about that mate, it was a leg breaker challenge as you can actually see his leg bend when Ross comes down on it.

They do love a roll around the pitch though but I'm definitely not defending Ross on that particular tackle ( unless you mean a different one then I apologise mate )

Why not play him with Mirallas, like should have happened on Saturday.

Need to get a replacement in for this lad in the summer if we want to push on

Simply not good enough for a top 5 side

I agree mate, I would have played Kev from the start and that's not a dig at Calvert Lewin who probably done more than Lukaku. For Derby matches though you want the players on the pitch who will give you a chance of winning which I think Mirallas does.

Hopefully tomorrow he gets a game and turns in a decent performance.

Couldn't agree more and don't want to confuse this thread - but Mirallas should have started. I know he can blow hot and cold but he's got that streak in him that you need in a Derby. I posted before he's got a bit of Tim Cahill in him in the Derby....the Suarez yellow (should have been red) in the 3-3 was a hangover from Suarez done him the year before. He was warming up Saturday and taking dogs abuse from them mutants in the Main Stand and just looked at us all and gave a shake of his head about the whole situation - he knew he should have started - and so did we. As for Ross, he never hid Saturday, most of his give and goes never came off, caught too many times with the ball and tried to be too deliberate in many of his passes....but had his deflected strike been the other way it would have spooned up and landed in the net rather than straight at a grateful Mignolet. Ross will be back, stronger for that on Saturday, I'd love him to be our captain, I know he revelled in that honour against Yeovil. Saturday still hurts but knee jerk reactions suggesting we sell aren't the answer for me.

I think the criticism of Ross has been harsh the last few days. We were all frustrated by another pathetic display at the cesspit but at least had a go. Yes he lost the ball and his decision making was poor; He played the occasion rather the game for me but he never hid. We set the benchmark high for the lad but at the end of the day his stats don't lie and they stack up against any midfielders in the country. He will come good I've no doubt about it.

It's been so difficult to post the last few days because everyone knows what they're typing is drenched in frustration and anger from the past 17 years. Been hard to look at things with a level head.

Awful game for him, the lad just doesn't know how to deal with having a bad game, ffs just work hard and play like a crab, the poorer the game he has the more he tries outlandish things and the worse he looks.
Keep it simple less narkey.
