hypothetically speaking, Barkley never fulfills his potential and plays at a standard of lets say Osman (maybe a bit better actually), wins a couple of trophies and spends his whole career at Everton would he be classed as a 'legend'?

Match winner, you are kidding yourself. I have argued his case through thick and thin but last Saturday I saw the light. He cannot read a game to save his life therefore second to the ball every time. That side of things cannot be coached.

I was the same.. penny dropped for me last season[/I know what your saying, I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt but he hasn't got it. Top/great players come to the fore when the chips are down and drag you through. Against Chelsea, he looked as if he needed somebody to hold his hand.

Having just gone through todays match and edited out all the players best moments it's pretty clear he was our best player today. I'd also say that was his best performance of season so far...

He looked lively at times, some great footwork, played some perfectly weighted passes, looked good on the turn... Should have scored though. He only gave the ball away sloppily once trying to thread a through ball.

Still a long way to go and it was by no means an amazing performance but he showed elements of what originally made us thing he was "special", more so than at any other point of this season.

Think the west ham one was better but he was our best player today with Gana.

I think he's been okay this season, with a few notable games.

But I'm getting the feeling he doesn't fit Koemans style

Is not a number 10, is totally incapable of making a run in behind the defence, no wonder our midfielders always go sideways there's nothing happening ahead. Opposition defenders must love facing us, you'd be able to map out where we will actually standing during various parts of the gane

So that's not aimed at Barkley but the front 3 then. Which I agree, they stand like statues (which was clearly evident against West Ham)

The only one playing football in the side is Barkley. Even today, anything regarding a threat came from him building play.

Out DMs don't want the ball. Out defenders our told to get rid. Lukaku can't hold the ball up. Our wide players are inconsistent.

So, is Barkley expected to drop deep, then get in support of the strikers, then create, then score goals?
