Fair enough, i disagree also though. Barkley's through balls don't make it often enough and aren't 'defence splitting' as it's usually a slightly late or under/overhit pass, or the wrong option imo.
Dels have certainly come mainly from crosses,but for a spree of games he played Lukaku through 1v1 with through balls in behind the defenders from deep and tbh - were probably some of the best passes you'll see all season!

Confidence player who needs a bit of good man management. He occasionally needs a bit of love but he also looks as though he needs someone to tell him what he should be doing with the defensive side of his game. If Mourinho or Ferguson got hold of him we'd be looking at one of the top players in the prem. Letting him swan around at number 10 has ruined the lad.

Barkley's also done the same but also tried 4 times before hand too. He gets it wrong and he gets it right.
If you asked Del to link play, control the midfield, keep attacking momentum, spread the ball from left to right...he couldn't.
I completely agree about Barkley here he, at the moment, cannot pass a ball and his footballing brain is non existent. I'm hoping this is down to confidence and what he's being told to do by the manager but only time will tell.

You want to criticise attacking players because we don't attack, but it's the wrong angle to come at this from.

Yeah Del would have no chance doing such things.
Obviously the whole team is off atm, our attacking play is non-existent across the whole board.

You're asking for miracles.
It doesn't matter how good a Featherweight boxer is; if he's put into the ring with a Heavyweight, he'll be ineffective in the fight.
That's the case here. Barkley is exceptional, but he isn't going to be able to perform miracles given the way we play from back to front.

Totally agree. Barkley has got heaps of potential but he needs to take more responsibility when we don't have the ball. Same with Deulofeu and Rom. A new fitness coach could do wonders with our squad.

Would love to see Ross ignore Martinez instructions, take the game by the scruff of the neck and run the Mancs ragged. Hes got the ability, but sometimes I think he lacks self belief

Barkley desperately needs a coach who will kick him up the arse and tell him he is playing his way into trouble! He is an instinct player, full stop! He is at his finest when there's sod all to think about, when he is in full flow running at the defence! They crap themselves and back off, giving him more space and allowing him to shoot. When he is trying to dink things around and it goes wrong, his head drops and any chance of him running at defenders goes out of the window! The problem then is that we effectively are reduced to ten men as he offers nothing defensively.
My greatest wish for Ross is that we get a manager who will tell him when he is crap, drop him if need be and do lots of work on his stamina and his alround game. I so desperately want this kid to be a superstar, but if they dont get a grip of him soon, he could turn into another Jeffers and never fulfil his potential!
