Rooney U23 coach?

I’m just watching The Overlap, and Rooney has just said he’s not against going in and being an under 23 coach. Surely Everton is the right place for him to do that?

Blimey. I am not sure. He has blue blood but coaching and managing isn’t the same as playing. He will have respect from the players as an explayer but not sure he is a “student” of the game. He wasn’t coached to be better, he was just better.

Best thing Rooney could do now is work in youth academies and maybe one day get an England job as an under 18 or 21 coach and then maybe if he proves himself then he gets the main job in the future one day
