Rooney on talksport

It depends on what standard he is judged by.
He is a professional sportman and has a level of fitness that a normal person could barely dream of.However,if he wants to be at the top of his profession then a further level of dedication again is required and this is where Rooney seems to be lacking.
As with Owen and Fowler who were big stars at an early age, they also went into a career decline at an early stage. It is not possible to say if that is happening to Rooney, but certainly the rumblings from Old Trafford are not positive.
Rooney is already incredibly weaLthy and has three or four years of a lucrative contract to run.I think that if Utd received a big bid for Rooney now from a foreign club it certainly would be considered. But how many clubs could afford his salary and the level of transfer fee he would attract...Utd possibly have prioced him out of the market.

I think it is a dream for Rooney to play again for Everton when he has enough money earned and enough trophies earned. But how much is enough money and how many trophies are enough ?
It is probably a pipe gream that will never be fulfilled....certainly not if Paul Stretford has his way.

Great Post

Its does seem that Rooney fell back in love with Everton but cant see it happening as you said he priced himself out of a move anywhere unless City wants him.
The man u fans recken he still world class but is not the same old rooney who use to torment and run at the defence, they recken he more all rounder now and are unhappy they way he comes back every summer over weight.

In his latest book, he reckens he will end up in midfield, maybe he will join Everton at the end of his career, which will be sad for me and i wont be amused if he does.

Personally I don't think he'll play for us again.

Either way, I'm not that arsed. We're Everton. We're bigger than any one individual. If the situation came up to have him back then fine but let's not sit here and pine for him.

That doesn't really make any sense. Your somatotype is a result of your weight and muscle mass so your exercise and diet is the only thing that can change it. As a footballer you're best being mesomorphic, which he is, but even if he was endomorphic then he'd have to lay off the pies or something.

. The guy suggested a generic height to weight comparison. I.e he should be 11st 8lbs. I reckon with his somatotype he's about the right weight considering the sport he plays and the position he plays in.

Your somatotype is predisposed genetically. Diet and exercise will not change it at all. Your body will always return to it's natural state once you remove outside stimulus. I.e. Crouch could put a bit of weight on but he will alway be an ectomorph though he may look like an endomorph to the untrained eye.

Somatotypes are determined by Skeletal structure, Muscle to weight ratio's and fat storage amongst a few other things.

Edit - Mesomorph isn't neccesarily the best suited to football IMO as the typical characteristics of the Ectomorph can be useful too.

He's told those close around him that he'll come back apparently. Time will tell. Just as long as he's still boss otherwise it will stink of Ginola and I'd rather swerve it after what happens. He owes us.

It'll be in his contract that he HAS to state how much he loves United and how he wants to be there all his career etc, if Everton were Mega Rich and we bid for him Rooney would be straight back to Goodison, but we just can't afford him so he'll see out his contract there probably

Rooney smokes and I doubt he looks after himself as much as some other players off the pitch either.

I think he'll take a big hit to his fitness\performance levels before he hits 30.

just listen to rooney on talksport good chat on it, near the end of the interview he was asked if he would go back to Everton it went quiet for a while and he said you can never tell in football, i think he as much as said Yes he would love to go back to EFC FC.

Once its not after another 10 year at united

On the Sky version he said he wants to end his career in Manc.
