I think it places a lot of pressure on the manager. I cant believe he'd have been fully on board with that. It's got the potential to be counterproductive for him if or when we have a poor run of form.

You only do tricks like this when a manager is completely unassailable in terms of their credibility.

A holy trinity of Kendall, Royle and Catterick would have been more appropriate. Or a mural of men like Mahon and Baxter who were crucial to Everton's early history.
Its a good point but doesn't this kind of thing scream ' history and past '. Whilst our history and past is wonderful and glorious, why can't/shouldn't we kick on and look to our future for a change.

The bolded part - Wasn't this the same last season though when the words ' champions league qualification ' were being thrown around and had everyone in bulk and us Evertonians cringing ? Whilst we didn't qualify, we had a good go at it.

Not going to say one way or another, but whatever is up there has to be better than that temporary crest banner that hung up in that spot last year.

I'm probably completely over reacting but it just seems like we're making the manager bigger than the club again ala Moyes.

What other club puts a portrait of their manager on the side of a stadium

That doesn't look finished, they still need to put the cloud head hair onto Bills image.

All hail our Glorious Leader, Chairman Bill
