I was at that match ,I was obviously gutted about losing to 'them', but it paled into insignificance when I heard the news about Dixie.Forty years ago today, our greatest ever.
Yep,me too,i remember my shock in the car coming home when the bad news came in on the old sports report.I was at that match ,I was obviously gutted about losing to 'them', but it paled into insignificance when I heard the news about Dixie.
RIP
It was sickening, but also romantic that when he went , he went at the ground he graced for so long!I was at that match ,I was obviously gutted about losing to 'them', but it paled into insignificance when I heard the news about Dixie.
RIP
Not only our greatest ever but English football’s greatest ever goal scorer. RIP Mr Dean.Forty years ago today, our greatest ever.
The greatest definitely but not the highest, I think Arthur Rowley, who played for Leicester City I the 1940’s and 50’s. holds the record. His brother Jack Rowley was more famous, he played for Man. United around the same time. Not only our greatest ever but English football’s greatest ever goal scorer. RIP Mr Dean.
I'd go as far as to say he's THE legend of English football. An icon known by just one name, as all the greats tend to be.
For football supporters? Yes, defo.....I wonder if he’s still a recognised name throughout the country, perhaps he is. Regardless, his legacy ensures he’ll always be immortal to Evertonians.
