You can keep your GGG/ Alvarez, I want to see Rio fight Freddie Flintoff.

A fight for the ages

...And he's got Rio pinned to the ropes, he's landing bombs to his head. Oh the humanity! Blood everywhere, his face will surely be a mess, the ref should stop the fight, his lips look completely different to normal...wait a minute! You know what, he looks better than ever, keep getting punched Rio!! :p

For someone who is pushing forty, this is a big gimmick. He has a young family who lost one parent already, find another hobby please.

My abiding memory of Rio Ferdinand the player is him staying as far away from Duncan Ferguson as possible as a central defender can be from the opponent's striker. Not that I blame him, Big Dunc always seemed to be a moment away from having the devil in him and the physical ability to make that a dangerous thing.

No way is he a boxer any more than I am.

The more I've been thinking about it the more it's pissed me off. It's not like he needs the money, pro boxing carries huge risks, he's way too old to be just getting into it, and what you said above, in spades. He's an utter pellet for doing this if you ask me.

Exactly, when most boxers are retiring he is thinking about starting, his reactions will be slower due to age and not being honed over years of boxing to avoid punches and used to dealing with different styles of fighters. I expect age will be a factor in recovering from blows to the brain too. If he got in the ring with anyone other than someone who is doing it for a laugh also, it will not end well and could be a massive long term health risk.
He doesn't have that many brain cells to start with so begs the question, why bother?
