Less risky then a young player with experience in the premier league. That has worked with our manager before and perfectly fits into his system and style of play?
The way I look at it is we're paying the 35 million we were going to pay for malcom. Everyone was happy about spending it then. On some midget from a crap leauge who's never thrown in a tackle in his life. Regardless of how good he was going forward silvas style requires the wide players to have a defensive edge to them, malcom is lacking in this area to say the least.
My point being individual brilliance isn't what we need now. What we need it to bring players in that will fit our system and make us a team.
Less risky as he is cheaper so if he flops we don’t lose as much money , more chance of reward as a 30m pound purchase he wont have to perform to as high a standard to be able to sell him on for a profit or even not at a loss, he has worked with brands before and played well in a World Cup . So yeah financially he’s less of a risk , and prem experience ? What does that mean anyway? Bolasie has 6 years prem experience, shame long has years, tony Hibbert has 10 years prem experience for god sake. Richalison has a season and he played well for rounghly 1\3 of it. Those games were all in a row at the start of the season, meaning he played 12 scores 5 which sounds good , he then went on to play 26 badly on a row which is concerning is it not? Can say he was tired? Marco left? Was adjusting? But the reality is he was very bad for the last 6 months or so and didn’t turn it round. And adjusting to a league usually means you start badly ? Adjust and get to grips and improve , he done the opposite. I’m not saying he’s a bad player or doesn’t have potential but jelavic has a similar spell did he not? Richalison is better than bolasie , but that’s not hard and most players in the same position are , but at 50m , add ons or not , he’s a huge risk and for him to pay off financially, he’s going to have to become a 10-15 goals a season winger or else we are going to end up in another bolasie situation again and loaning not him out to Turkish clubs I’m a couple of years. This is exactly what happened to Leeds. Paying massive fees and wages to players than signed them flipped or couldn’t be arsed and had to pay half their wages after they left .
