Finished Everton 0 - 1 West Ham in windy conditions on Merseyside.

Maybe Gueye, Coleman, Yakubu, Neville aren't ready for first team action yet?

It's more like a match fitness session for them, by the sound of the commentary looks like Coleman, gueye and Yakubu kept West Ham pretty busy, I think if it wasn't for there keeper and defence, we could have easily scored couple of goals.

The number of crosses Coleman and Gueye has put in, Cahill would have put couple of those away, can't wait to see Coleman play against Newcastle, think it should be the right opponent for us to test him further!

A reply! Half the people on this forum currently are too busy havin a go at United fans to bother with their own team.

It does sound like we kept them busy - but with Silva, Gueye, Beckford and Yakubu all failing to score against a reserves West Ham side it doesn't look good for our strikers does it?

Coleman playing could maybe see him forced to the bench. Hibbert is good aside from vs the top four and is less likely to make defensive mistakes - but the quality of crosses and forward play of Coleman is far better, he gives us a much needed dynamism on the right side.

Just saw the highlights from the game, Coleman definitely played outwide, Neville actually played in the middle of the park and Yakubu and Beckford partnered each other upfront.

Yakubu and Beckford seemed to be linking up well, Yakubu put him through twice with two excellent through balls, really showing the passing ability he possesses in the final third. Beckford's pace and movement looked good but he should have finished one of the three chances.

I saw one of two glimpses of Ross Barkley, in the first half he wrong footed one of the West Ham players and shot wide and in the second he played an excellent, raking through ball to Beckford, who hit the post. I haven't seen anything of him over 90 minutes but he looked promising in the clips I saw, and he's obviously highly rated at the club.

Turner and Duffy messed up for the goal.

yes, that's right. We should be worried that we can't beat west ham's reserve team with a strong team like that we played. It's easy to say that we created chances but if it wasn't for the keeper or their defense then we would have won. If their defense is so good then why don't they play their reserve lineup in the PL so they have less of a horror time they are having right now. We are now starting to make it a habit...of making excuses, " yes we would have done it if it wasn't for this or that"
It's enough of that now
The Yak, becks, neville(should have played like a dynamic right back getting forward in a game like this) and coleman. When you see those names you would think we'll win 10-0 but we didn't! That is a FACT!

Did West Ham have any first teamers out?

FROM THE WEST 'AM SITE: Alex Dyer has a number of first-team squad members at his disposal this afternoon, with goalkeeper Marek Stech, defenders Winston Reid and James Tomkins and midfielders Radoslav Kovac and Junior Stanislas all starting.

Think it was Stanislas who scored.
