I think i'm in the minority from what i've seen but I actually don't think this is necessarily a bad thing. We keep being told that the players are terrified of the fans and the fans have to be nice to the players and not get annoyed with them for not being able to/trying to do their highly paid job to an acceptable standard, maybe this will allow the players to see that the fans actually just really care about the club and are scared and nervous, and they really don't need to be worried about a negative reaction if they just go out and give it their all.
Yeah I see that side of things too - think the players should know how much the fans care though, they need to understand that what they are messing with really is some fans lives, and their inability to put a performance in does effect their week.
Personally, I would want it to be a humbling experience for them, understanding how much it takes out of a 80 year old to come the game, getting to his seat, to see 0 effort put in, understanding the effect it has on a new generation of fans coming the game for the first time and how in my case my little boy cried his heart out because the team lost.
I want them to understand what it means to fans, make them humble and then. fight for every blade of grass.
Not swan about and think its acceptable, 1 in performance or 2 to say the same "our position is not good enough" speech.
Action. not words.
