Someone said on here after the Watford game “if we go down, it won’t be because we drew at Watford,” and I thought that was a really negative, small time way of thinking.

We all know our defeats this season, but that Watford 0-0 being turned into a win keeps us safe, we would literally be safe before we even kicked off today. And people were justifying the cowardice at Watford, it’s mad.

We started well but we didn’t “batter” them, we got the ball forward and DCL unsettled their defenders, but from minute 1 they were better and more comfortable than us in possession.

So are many teams against Everton. We beat leicester with 32% and chelsea with 22% possession.

Well, the evidence before us all season is that Palace are a far better side than us. Why would anybody trust us to win.

This relying on others will be the end of us. You'll likely have people moaning about Villa's lack of effort against Burnley on Thursday or Newcastle's on Sunday. Or Brentford's against Leeds. But it's pointless. We have had 37 games to get clear of trouble. If we're still in it on Thursday night, prepare for the worst from a mental perspective. There's always hope...until there isn't, but hope is what kills in the end.
