Yeah, and how many managers will tell their teams to "Just go out and enjoy yourselves"? pretty much every one.
Of course he sent them out with tactics and a formation, of course they were drilled. What an imbecilic accusation.

The only manager we've had where that was remotely true was Martinez, and even then he got so much else right. Everton's biggest mistake was not getting a specialised defensive coach in under him to organise and drill the defence better. With a more stable defence, that team could have been challenging for things.

Preseasons are meaningless. They are about fitness. Carlo had a terrible preseason last year and we won our first 8 matches when things kicked off for real.

Who defines what "better football" is? We were still in the hunt for Europe a few weeks away from the end of last season when we barely played anything approaching our first choice midfield all season. We will be nowhere near this a season with the downgrades to our squad and Manager.
We will struggle to finish in the top ten under this clown regardless of what he says in his press conferences FACHT!
We only finished 10th last season and even lower the year before. If Ancelotti only just made top ten why would you expect someone else to do any better?

I would add a third to that list and that is our new manager.
Forget the people willing to accept him now that he is in place if you asked the fans the day after Anchelloti left would they want Benitez I am confident that 90% would have said no.

And if he’d never been at the pit 90% would have said yes. It’s unfortunate but Carlo dropped us in the crap. I don’t remember a long line of decent managers knocking on our door wanting to take over. Benitez really wanted it because he has something to prove. The worst that can happen is he fails, just like our previous list of managers and gets kicked out. The best that can happen is that he wins something. Notwithstanding his previous association with the RS and his previous comments, I think the man will work his nuts off for our benefit. We really have nothing to lose…..

According to some reports we had 24 applications from various managers, would be interesting to know who some of them were.

It’s completely different
Glad Carlo walked TBH the last 12 games were pure relegation football...... plus he knew the transfer chest was empty he was tapped up as soon as Zidane walked - I reiterate ant Manager coming in the job will be very hard - we have far too much deadwood - starting from scratch for any Manager will be hard - if RB fails he will be sacked......
