What's with the new blue box thing when quoting people now?

Used to just be the QUOTE & /QUOTE text with the post number added but now there's a cumbersome blue box thing which is difficult to work around and doesn't seem to behave well when lining up replies, breaking down a quote or using multiple quotes.

Is it possible to wind back or are we stuck with it?

It's okish on PC but on smaller mobile devices it's no get used friendly.

I was exactly the same.

Seems it's a feature designed by someone who doesn't post on forums but works on forum software.

My advice is - ignore any special options, just do the bits that work. Makes life so much easier.

Yeah, it is a bit annoying.

I have to upgrade to ensure we're compliant/leading but with every upgrade my time is then spent on removing pointless, annoying "innovative" stuff.

I'll try and change the quote annoyance, might also remove the pointless preview button too/.

Preview button is useful when editing long posts, especially on a phone due to the small window for moving around the text


Also, you might want to consider removing the "Insert Code" function if you can (or at least the non-BB code options), that's a massive invite for hackers to run dangerous things

I'm not sure.

It used to be useful, but the message editor shows real-time nowadays.

It's only very few embeds, like tweets, that don't show in the editor vs preview?

There does seem to be lots of options for inserting proper programming code in "More Options" "Code" under the Language "General Code" dropdown. (C++, Javascript, SQL etc)
If that is all disabled then all is good.
