Qualifying for the Europa or Conference league: is it worth it?

Should we be concerned with qualifying for the lesser European competitions this season?

I'm fascinated, as always, by the varied opinions of posters around what counts as a successful season - some argue Europe as a must, others think 10th is a good upward curve from previous years.

Equally there's some corners of this fine forum who argue the Europa and Conference leagues are Mickey Moyes competitions and worthless. There's an argument, not one I subscribe to, that Europe can affect league placings or domestic cups.

So, friends, what say you? Better to be competing in Europe, or focus on a cup and cracking to 4? Or other, non-binary, choice?
I think the poll is giving false positive and false negative answers depending on how a poster understands the word “concerned” in the question…it’s a bit ambiguous IMO.

I think the question should be something like-:

“ Should Everton be aiming to qualify for European football regardless of the level of competition we end up qualifying for.”

I’m all for European football btw.

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha.

Literally no one thinks that.

10th is low hanging fruit.

10th is nothing.

You're various attempts to frame Moyes' BS season of failure as acceptable are hilarious.

After our last few seasons top half and no talk of a relegation battle all season is a big improvement and should help improve the squad in the next window

However, getting Europe would be far better and attract better players from other countries who want to play in Europe immediately and not join a project like KDH was willing to… it will also see us more likely to retain Ndiaye and our other best players

It’s not a MUST but in a season where Spurs, Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle have all been way behind their standards recently it would be a shame to miss out when we’re so close and we’d likely be missing out to much smaller clubs

I shouldn’t be jealous of Crystal Palace fans but here we are, they won the FA Cup last season and now have a European Final

I’d love to be in conference league next season. Some may think it’s Mickey Mouse or a modern inter-toto cup. But, for me, if this was a Crystal Palace forum now, similar league position to us, but a European final on the horizon, I’d imagine the forum would be buzzing with excitement.

Many won’t agree, they’ll think it’s not good enough, for me it may not be good enough for our club, but it’s definitely good for this squad and it’s many problems.
