Of course it would be. We will be more attractive for a higher profile of players and 10+ mio extra money from a higher league position and the cup.
Never understood the argument that we shouldn't get Europe because it would hurt our league position. If our new owners are the ambitious, competent professionals they have been heralded as, qualifying for Europe will merely accelerate their squad building as it means we have to pad the squad out for the extra competition and gives us another perk to help us attract a better quality of player.
If you can't win the league, finish second. If you can't do that, make the Champions League. If you can't do that, qualify for the Europa. If you can't do that, make the Conference League. If you can't do that, call Sean Dyche.
And this, btw, is why on another thread some of us based in continental Europe are saying Everton is not as well known in places like Germany as people might expect. Our record in Europe over the decades is awful for a club of Everton's stature.
You’d rather win the league cup than the Champions league?I don't give a flying one about modern european leagues. Obviously it would be a feather in the cap to win what's laughably called the champions league - but I'd only honestly feel we deserved it if we qualified as actual champions. Otherwise its meaningless to me compared with the league or FA cup ... even the league cup, whatever its called today.
I can see the advantage of us being in europe so far as being able to attract better soulless mercenaries to the club though.
Mr Moyes says hi.I think if you think we'd be better off without Europe, which I've seen here and there, then you are nothing short of a coward IMHO.
Also known as Kenwright's Dream. Is it worth it? Err yes. Even if its just to bypass that god awful League Cup Second Round.
What's the alternative? Finish between 9-17th every season and be grateful of being a Premier League team?
