I'd like to see us treat these the way we treated Villa in the 1st half - dominate possession & create chances against a weak defence. Yes, we'll miss the aerial threat of Fellaini but I want to see us keep the ball on the deck with Osman, Pienaar & Mirallas.

Play confidently, play football & go into most matches knowing that you are better than the opposition.

And the head says a scrappy game with a couple of niggling injuries before the derby.

why, why, why would you want to break up pienaar/baines partnership? mental starting him anywhere else(even if that does mean neville starts)

Excellent work as per sir, including the bit about a "trouser-bothering semi", haha. Been there loadsa times but will never forget the one in 93/94 I think it was when we were down to 9 men for most of the game after Nev and Rideout were sent off, were 3-0 down, got it back to 3-3, and lost 4-3 in the final minute. Heartbreaking stuff. Fancy us to snatch a win here by the odd goal.

With Gibbo and Felli out here is my team for tomorrow -
.....................Howard...................
Coleman.....Jagielka.......Distin....Baines..
Mirallas.....Neville(c)........Osman....Pienaar..
.................... Naismith.....................
.....................Jelavic..................
Subs -
Mucha
Heitinga
Anichebe
Gueye
Hitzlsperger
Duffy
Oviedo

I'd change Anichebe for Naismith and Heitinga or Hitz for Neville.

My dad used to say I'd have loved Latchford.

We love Latchford here he was a great goal scorer - mum loved him. I was too young though but I believe he could do anything. Big tall striker with pace and could easily nick balls in the box with his feet or head - would have suited the game today. Born at the wrong time - with the fitness improvements they have made since he would have even better and scared a lot of clubs.

I wouldn't be completely shocked it Hitzlsperger does start because he has been at the club for a month now and played for the under 21's and last weekend in the game with Huddlestown so you can't say he wouldn't be up to it. I wouldn't have any worries if Moyes does start him.

Anyone heard anything on Hibbert? Coleman has been fine but i would rather go into the Derby with Hibbert starting so it would be a good game to let Hibbert get some time if he's fit of course. Same goes for Gibson but it sounds like he's more likely to miss.

This is my team if Hibbert, Gibbo and Hitzlsperger don't start

Tim Howard
Seamus Coleman - Phill Jagielka - Sylvian Distin - Leighton Baines
Kevin Mirallas - Phill Neville - Leon Osman - Steven Pienaar
Victor Anichebe - Nikita Jelavic

Subs: Tony Hibbert Darren Gibson, Johnny Heitinga, Steven Naismith, Thomas Hitzlsperger, Bryan Oviedo and Jan Mucha

I have been pretty harsh on Big Vic over the years but this season he is really showing some positive signs and has put in a couple of good shifts. I know we more than likely won't start with two strikers but i just feel Victor deserves a start and i would like to see how him and Jelavic can work up front.

this is a horrible no win game. looking forward to it after the boredom of international week, but only a win will do today, and a convincing one at that.

If we draw or lose against the side at the bottom of the table, then this forum will go into meltdown and I will revert into a deep dark depression for a week.

Surely we'll hammer these clowns?

The Latch was a great goal scorer most of his goals were supplied by Dave Thomas a great winger Gordon Lee pinched from QPR - a great combination for that period -Lets hope Baines & Pieaneer can supply the goods for Jelly today COYB!

Match day breakfast here, reading the papers, kids excited - I love the days Everton are playing in London (equivalent of a home game for all those still on Merseyside)

Will get Mrs the Esk to drop us off at the ground, watch the blues win - happy days!

In past seasons this is exactly the type of game we would have lost so if we are the real deal we must win this one!
