Apparently Ledson lead the U17 on a lap of honour round Wembley tonight to celebrate their European Championship success.

We had two starters in the senior national side. Baines assisted Cahill's goal from a corner and Jags found the net himself. Stones made his international debut and Barkley had a cameo.

Then on Sunday the Women's team are taking on Arsenal in the FA Cup final. Meanwhile Browning and Garbutt are likely to feature against Portugal in the third-place play-off of the U20 Toulon Tournament.

If your English, it's pretty ace!

I'm a bit meh like!

But well in to the English fans!

I am English and I too am 'meh', but more pleased that it's Everton players than it being they've done it for England. If they had done it for any national teams then I would be pleased.

I just don't care much about England!

I'm not a great fan of international football mate, so I'd prefer all of our players not to have to play during the summer if I'm honest regardless of who they play for!

I've a big worry about Ross heading into this World Cup, I've a feeling he's going to struggle next season!

International football is largely gash, I would rather not have to endure it!

I agree, although a good tournament could see him carry form and belief into next season,

My feeling is that Barkley's not going to get much game time at the World Cup. I think that Rooney will start but be way below his best and that Stirling will come in to make an impact. I think that Ross will get limited opportunities as a game-changer. He could still struggle next year though. I think that adrenaline will have carried him through his first full season in the Premier League but that he'll find that more is expected of him in his second season and that defenders are wiser to him.

The World Cup is the pinnacle for a footballer. Jagielka, Baines, Barkley and Stones will all gain massively from the experience (even if John only gets as far as America) and it reinforces that players don't have to leave Everton to enjoy those massive highs. They may well be knackered when they come back but so will players from all our rivals. Long-term it will be incredibly valuable to them and the club.

Pleased for the lads. But still a wee bit worried about billy big bollocks teams coming in for them.

Yeah fair play mate, I don't really agree rest and relaxation are more important than training or playing! I'm predicting Ross has a mare next year, regardless of his game time, for me he should be playing 75% of our games and his aim should to be playing 100% consistently well and less patchy then he has!

This World Cup thing, I think is going to really set him back IMHO, poor preseason, limited rest, lack of experience in managing these demands and the second season stuff - to much to soon for the lad!

It's a nice story at the mo, but bad for him and us overall, not to mention the press haven't turned yet as they invariably always do!

good OP.

even if i'm not english, i hate them a little less if evertonians are playing, smiled when jags scored

Season doesn't start until 16th August so our international players should get sufficient rest as I don't think England, Belgium or USA will get passed QF which are complete by 6th July. I would like to think all our players who go have good world cup as it will boost confidence. We only start in Europa in mid September so if players are jaded they can be eased back in. 3/4 members of world cup squad being blues shows ambitions can be met by playing for this club.

I love to see our players representing their countries. As well as the English lads, we have Naismith for Scotland, Tim for USA, Super Kev for Belgium, and of course - that which makes me most proud - Seamus. James McC, Aiden, Shane Duffy and Gibbo wearing the Green jersey.

Now....as long as they all report back injury free for pre-season training...... happy days!!

When he came on last night there were a couple of occasions where he tried to be a bit too clever and he ended up falling over the ball. I think he'll come back from the World Cup 'buzzin'. He will have picked things up from his teammates, coaches and opposition and it will only deepen his love affair with the game. He's going to want to put that into practice and he could start the season on fire but I agree that not having a proper rest over the summer will undoubtedly catch up with him at some point and his form could drop until the New Year.

I'm a little bit surprised that Hodgson is taking him. He's not going to get the freedom to express himself that he gets with Everton and his inexperience could be costly. Maybe Roy is hoping that he has the Gazza factor and that he demands to be picked based on the warm-up games?

If Everton players were being overlooked for these competitions then it would put us at a disadvantage in terms of keeping the player and their development.

More reasons to be proud...

Deulofeu made his Spanish debut last night and I believe that Duffy could receive his Irish debut against Italy tonight.
