Proposed 2026 Summer Business: Assuming European Competition

Yeah, I'm thinking about it again and maybe we could bring back Richarlison to cover Striker and Winger. If we need a 3rd striker we could look at Lukaku, too, because he's cheaper than Toney and would make a great mentor to Barry. The finances might be able to hold up under that but I'm not sure. Braiden Graham might be a good shout in rotation but he probably needs a loan to grow. We might also need a loan signing or one year contract for a backup RB while we see how Patterson goes. Mostly I was trying to go off of confirmed interests.
Some terrible shouts here

Liam Delap is crap

2026 Summer Transfer Business (assuming that we get into Europe)

In
- Jack Grealish: £30,000,000 (renegotiated permanent fee)
- Liam Delap: £30,000,000 (projected fee)
- Tyrique George: £22,000,000 (pre-agreed option to buy)
- Merlin Röhl: £17,300,000 (pre-agreed obligation to buy)
- Juanlu Sánchez: £15,000,000 (projected fee)
- Harry Wilson (free agent)
- Dušan Vlahović (free agent)

Out
- Beto £20,000,000 (likely to the Serie A)
- McNeil £20,000,000 (likely to another Premier League club)
- Patterson (season-long loan to Sevilla as a replacement for Juanlu Sanchez)

Total Initial Spend: £114,300,000
(Estimated £15m–£20m in combined signing-on bonuses for Vlahović and Wilson would push the total cash outlay closer to £130m–£135m)

If we successfully sell McNeil and Beto for £20m each, our net transfer spend drops to £74.3m, which is well within safe financial limits.

Projected Annual Wage Bill
The annual commitment for these seven additional players becomes roughly £40.1 million (approx. £770k/week combined).
Context: The move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium is expected to generate enough new matchday and commercial income cover this entire group's salaries from revenue growth alone.

Proposed 2026/27 Squad Structure
GK

- Pickford
- Travers
- King

CB
- Keane
- Tarkowski
- O’Brien
- Branthwaite

LB
- Mykolenko
- Aznou

RB
- Juanlu Sanchez (permanent transfer)
- Coleman
- Patterson (season-long loan to Sevilla)

CM
- Gana Gueye
- Röhl
- Iroegbunam
- Dewsbury-Hall
- Garner
- Armstrong
- Alcaraz

Wingers
- Grealish (renegotiated fee, permanent transfer)
- Ndiaye
- Dibling
- Tyrique George (permanent transfer)
- Harry Wilson (free agent)

Strikers
- Barry
- Liam Delap (permanent transfer)
- Dušan Vlahović (free agent)

The Big “If” – Dušan Vlahović
He is likely to head to a different club next season, meaning we will probably have to look at buying Lukaku or Toney instead. They are both now in their 30s and buying one ofthe two would potentially be pretty expensive (both in terms of wages and transfer fee). However, they are both still a possibility.

On a side note, Troy Parrot doesn’t offer the experience that we need in a senior 3rd striker to mentor Barry and Delap, nor is he necessary reliable enough in big European games.
Ok
Didn't answer the question. Interesting.
I didn't see it at first 😅

Guys, I must've had a brain malfunction. Let's forget the Delap shout completely. But who do we sign to replace Beto? I know there's been a few interesting transfer rumours from the continent but I mostly ignored them due to inexperience.

Agreed and 30 million for an ageing Grealish might be a bit high. Strikers and wing backs are key signings this summer.
Can we get him for 20? I wasn't sure what City would let him go for, and while there are other good options I'd rather have him.

We are tied into Rohl obviously but the rest are poor shouts imo.
I heard Moyes was seriously considering keeping George but I don't remember if the source was trustworthy. I'm mostly just hoping Moyes sees something we don't in these players for the future otherwise this probably would've gone differently.
