Moyes
Hibbert / Coleman / Osman / Rodwell / Rooney /Anichebe / Vaughan

= 7 players in 10 years. Also, which younger players under 21 did he sign for the first eleven?

Martinez
Garbutt / Galloway / Browning / Stones / Barkley + signed Besic / Lukaku / Deulofeu / Lukaku.

5+4 in two years and more this season i think.

The thing is though, were there really any players available from the youth team other than the ones listed who had a chance of making the first team for Moyes?

Moyes went mostly for players who would improve once they joined the club with higher coaching and fitness levels whereas it seems Martinez prefers to spend on younger players with a lot of potential.

Think the only one he signed was Stones and the youth team brought in Garbutt. Playing players like Barkley seemed very random.

You don't win anything with kid's.

Also I think Martinez has had a better group of youngsters to choose from but that is down to the foundation laid by Moyes.

Moyes helped design finch farm so youth trained alongside the 1st team, the players breaking through now are the first batch to have come all the way through our system. He was a bit of a knob at the end but if we get a 'golden generation' of youth in next few years then thats prob more down to Moyes than anyone

BS its down to the excellent work our youth coaches do.

Well he did, and it was probably because he was a bit of an arse but that's irrelevant when discussing his impact on our youth development.
And like he said, moyes didnt pay much attention. The youth teams played an entire different style and formations than what moyes did
