Premier League Games Abroad?

Would you be opposed to Premier League games played abroad?

Somehow, I don't think going to Australia is going to 'bring glory' to Seria A.

Speak for yourself.
I'll be decked out in a scarf, megaphone, flares, machine guns and whatever else Italian ultras bring to the matches.

Well thats not true is it.

Why would La Liga want to lose its cash cows of Real and Barca. The clubs owners wanted the superleague.
I dont think Madrid, Barcelona and possibly Juve have still even officially pulled out of the Superleague dream.

Fans won the battle on that league, not the leagues themselves.

La liga and Serie A are desperately trying to compete with the Premiership as a the top Global League/Competion..

We dont need to play abroad to be no1 league around, thats we do summer trips..

Why would La Liga want it to happen? It was UEFA and FIFA which put a stop to this proposed Superleague this time.

The Premier League will react to other leagues doing this and follow suit. They will want to be on this money train and won't care one iota about the fans.

The fans kicking up put a stop to it, fifa will jump at any chance to try and grab the reigns off Uefa..

How many people even cared or could remember the Club World Cup.

The Premiership bowing down, maybe it's just hope that they wont follow suit.

We gave the world the game, so why drop that batton for what could be the final nail in its coffin..

If we follow suit to a desperate need the Franchised NFL started, just to try and attract fans outside of their country, Than Football has lost me and many others..

We have the power, we're not in a position of need, why kill that.

The Premier League floated this idea years back.

Wanted the league to have 39 games with a game played abroad.

They will push it forward again.

I thought about a format for this years ago with the 39th game.

I actually thought that you could schedule it as a last game of the season at the end of May. But one of the challenges is how to decide who plays who and where.

I think you would have 10 host cities/ stadiums. At the playoff final at the end of the previous season(As this is the earliest point we know all of the premier league teams for the next season) There would be a draw live on Sky/ TNT at full time, each host city would be drawn out, then each of 20 teams are drawn against each other.

I think that could be a real "event", plus the fans of each club have almost a year to plan their trip (if they want to go and experience it)

A circus is what it would be.. they might as well just have an all-star game and sent that abroad.

Its crap as are the NFL international games.

If you want to go and watch a "real" match then go to the country it is normally played in and watch it. Plenty do.

I have been to a couple of the NFL UK games and its just not the same experience. The crowd is filled with fans of various teams not just the ones playing which gives it a friendly/pre season vibe.

People like the English football because it is football in England. They like American football because its so very American.
