I took my wife on our first date to Highfield Road Coventry City on Tues 19th April 1988 to see us win 2-1 then escorted her to the Manor Ground (Oxford United)on the Saturday to watch Wayne Clarke grab an equaliser from the spot to earn a 1-1 draw. And she says " I never take her out"!!

Haha top man! She's a lucky lady

I've heard some rumours that we are going to be in this cup: http://internationalchampionscup.com/ with Inter, Juventus, LA Galaxy, Real Madrid, Milan, Benfica, and Chelsea. Played in the US from July 31 - August 7

Only Inter, Juve, LA Galaxy, and Real Madrid are officialy in, but it was posted on their Facebook-page that Milan, Benfica, Chelsea and Everton would also join in. It was removed after a couple of minutes... https://www.facebook.com/pages/Guinness-International-Champions-Cup/613585068668658?fref=ts

I don't think it's unlikely that we could be in a cup with such big clubs, as Everton is a pretty big thing in the US (Howard, Donovan, previous trips etc.)

My God, please let this happen. One of the cities is Indianapolis, which is only 3 hours from me.

The International Champions Cup is an 8-team tournament pitting some of the world's best and most prestigious football clubs against each other in a series of elimination matches to be played July 27 - August 7.

The tournament, which will be played in six U.S. cities and one European city, will culminate with a championship match at Miami's Sun Life Stadium on August 7.

The International Champions Cup will offer fans a chance to see the world's most successful clubs live as they compete for a coveted trophy.
Elimination matches? so basically we lose our first game we are out? so we would only be going the US for one game?

Heard we might be playing Juventus towards the end of July in San Francisco in that Champions Cup thing. Be good to get a real decent team in pre season

Wouldn it be more beneficial to have a mini-league? So each team gets 7 games against top opposition, and then in classic American fashion, have the top two play out a final between them? Seems more likely to me...

Wouldn't be surprised if we pulled out of this and then played Morecambe.

Other than Benfica we'd probably have the smallest following in the tournament. Given the number of Italians in the States I suspect Inter and Juventus would have the biggest.
